Argh! A watched online balance never reads $0. I'm $92.08 away from winning my race and I'm waiting (oh so patiently) for it to post.

iascubagal - I can't wait to see you post that you've won!! That would drive me crazy looking at it. Did you mail a payment, or pay online?

iascubagal - how exciting!!! You'll be the first MW winner on the new board too, you're making history Sam - time flies, I remember when your ticker on your screen name was reading 4 weeks Thanks for the sports bra advice! I checked out a few sites and found some on sale at Amazon so I have some lunchtime shopping to do. I was willing to spent $$$ but I'm so glad I found some on sale and got some cheaper recommendations. I tried that Champion one on at Kohl's and it didn't seem that supportive (well, for what I could tell jumping around in the dressing room, how embarassing! its hard to tell until you actually wear them) but it wasn't bad and it was comfy so it's still on the contender list. I can wait for a sale and order online if needed. In reality I can use a couple of them, I just hate not being able to try them on. This amazon one is elegible for free shipping and returns, that really makes such a difference in online shopping when returns won't be a hassle.

I tried to do an online payment last Friday evening. I was all excited, I typed in the amount, pressed "Enter" and got a message that my payment couldn't be completed because I had already made 4 other online payments during this statement period............?.......!.........#$%^&
So then I decide to call and try to make a payment over the phone. My first call got dropped. At this point my excitement had died considerably. I got through on my second call, made the payment and have been obsessively checking my balance every few hours ever since. I know that since I made it on a weekend it will take longer, I just can't keep myself from checking.

Scorpio - We're STILL neck and neck on the $5.6-24K list and both at almost the same percentage paid off. it's kind of funny, we've been like that for ages. I can't believe I'm #9 on the list! I'm hoping to make a pretty big lump payment in march and april, we'll see if I can knock out my race then!

I bought a sewing machine today with the $400 my DH gave me for Cmas to use toward a sewing machine ONLY! I tried paying bills with it & he went through the roof! So, I went out & bought a new Jamone machine that I can use to sew kids clothes & piece quilt tops together & maybe do some small quilting projects. I feel good about the purchase b/c we are no further in debt after this purchase than we were before & since it is a Janome (my favorite machine) I feel very confident that it will work wonderfully. So tonight after wrestling practice, I will be up late setting up my sewing area in the basement again & working on hemming DS1's pants!!!! YEAH, I made a responsible, frugal, sensible decision when what I really wanted to do was to purchase another horribly expensive quilting & embroidery machine like the one I had before!! Yeah for me!!!

URDOINGIT the fiesta being to small in the backseat realy upset me too...i realy liked the car and it's safety features were nice. but dh is concerned, and it's valid, that as we continue to get older getting in and out might get hard. having dd3 at my age was a challenge and some things just haven't come back as much as i wish (hip has just never been the same). we also want to get a small trailer sometime in the future to travel and as this might (like you) be our last big car purchase if we can help it. it's just that the cost of cars these days just galls me....we paid 38k for our first home and now cars are that much?! not to mention all the electronic stuff you have no choice but have to get...can't even get roll-up windows, never mind they are safer SAM i can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going! you are all ready 12wks....

SHOP i'm glad you were able to find a way to make the sewing machine work. for some odd reason i've been doing much of my stuff by hand because it reminds me of my grandmother. i've got a viking with some embroidery but it's more than i need most times but dh was so proud when he got it for me i've never had the heart to tell him i miss the old singer. more than anything someday i'm going to do myself a sewing room and get my fabric and trims onto shelves so i can just look at it and be happy CHICG no idea on the bra thing. i've given up on the sports bar thing and get the ones with the 'support back' and soft cup...underwire drives me wacko. if you get cotton it works well enough. girls got zumba for game system for christmas so now am trying that. it would appear i have 2 left feet... MAJOR BUDGET ISSUE my food budget has turned into the thing from planet 9. i just can't seem to get a hold on it. utilities are good, mortgage is good, working on trying to find affordable long distance but the food is off the chart and no one in the family will listen to me or even understands and it's making me crazed

Chicg - just wanted to quickly weigh in on the bra issue. I wear a 40F and have found the following to work the best for me (even when I run, although let's be honest not much of that happening right now : Anyway, I wear a regular underwire bra and then I wear a pull over sports bra on top (just the cheap walmart ones) the trick is while the reg bra is my normal size I buy the sports bras in size medium (basically it is so small I can barely get it on but when I do nothing is going anywhere!) This is the only thing I've found that helps me and the good news is no spending $40+ on a special sports bra. Just a thought, you do have to replace the pull over bras as they will start to stretch out but they usually last me 6 months or so before needing replacement, and the regular bras just wear out like normal. Good Luck, finding a bra is such a pain in the rear!

This is my 2 yr WIRR Anniversary Update! After the nightmare of 2009 I made my 2010 goals very simple. 1) 500 EF + 1000 for DSS travels. 2) under 120K in total debt. I made both of these, barely, didn't think I would for most of the year, but I did it! Now on to 2011...life is going to take some turns, not sure if it will be up or down yet. We will pay off 10,907 in debt with the min payment plan, as of now we have planned to payoff 17,917, We will TRY to pay off 21,371, and with extremely good luck we could reach 25,000 payoff, but we will probably prioritize elsewhere if things go that good. I can't do much more than wait for the road ahead of us to unravel. Race on WIRR!

I'm still here. Still have not made my new spreadsheets after the death of my old computer. That is the goal for next week. Very busy with DH being off. And I have to work 5 out of the next 7 days (12 hours) + looks like commuting in snow. Ugh. It hasn't started snowing yet, but I wish it had so I could call off, lol.

Lisa: The first quilt I ever made was a King size which I machine pieced & hand quilted. It was supposed to be a wedding gift for my brother, but since I had never sewn before & didn't know any better, I used cheap fabric & ANY fuzz, lint or cat hair would stick to it like glue. So that quilt is tucked away in a closet in my house not being used. I received my DH's grandma's very large, old, beautiful hand quilting frame when his grandparents moved out of their house into Nursing Homes, and it has been sitting in my basement for about 3 years. I don't know if I have the patience to tackle another hand-quilted project again!!! I'm sorry that your car hunt has gone sour. We had a Buick Century a few years ago that got about 22 miles/gal, which isnt super, but that car was so comfortable, did pretty good in the snow and it had excellent back seat leg room. We could easily get 6 people in the car. I think they discontinued that model though, so you can probably find a used one pretty affordable. Hopefully you will find something perfect for your family. Good Luck!!

Jando: I'm sorry that I don't remember ISSA, maybe she was here before I joined. But I just wanted to send you a sincere Thank You for posting that update here. It really touched me & reminded me to be thankful for every day that we have here in this life, with our family & friends and to not take anything for granted. I printed off a copy of her update to keep in my debt/bills binder so that I will always have it handy to read when I begin to feel sorry for myself for the hand I've been dealt in life. Thank you, again.

Reading that lady's post, even though I don't know who she is, just breaks my heart when I think about how my twins are around the same age as her son when he passed. That just makes me want to re-think the times I go upset when they were being naughty or being at work. I could never imagine losing one of my twins, even though we almost did when they were first born. Prayers with her and her family working to mourn and move on.

Hello everyone. I've continued to follow the board but have not posted for a long time. You are all very inspiring! I need to restart my totals. It was workinghard6 (5/14/08; $56,917, M324). Unfortunately, now we owe $65,000. We refinanced everything we owe in to a new mortgage with INGdirect. We've helped buy cars for children, helped pay for college for three, put new windows in our house, etc. Now our goal is to pay everything off. I'm not sure how to do the table yet, but I think I can go back a few pages and figure it out. Thanks!

So, I'm working on my goals list for 2011!! (I totally sucked at finishing my 2010 goals, and WILL do better this year) anyways, I'm looking into getting more life insurance for myself (DBF and DD already are covered)... how do I know how much to get? Does anyone have any tips/resources I can use to figure out amounts, etc? What are your feelings on universal life insurance as opposed to whole life insurance?? I think universal sounds better, but I'm going into this blind and would appreciate some feedback! TIA!!

Jando, thanks for following up with Issa. As you read in my MSN posts, she was one of my first big inspirations on the boards. One of the people that never made excuses and made me re-evaluate my own behavior. Devastating about Bobby but I'm thrilled to hear her and her family are healing and appreciating their time together and it's great to hear that baby Tony is doing well. Shop - you joined after Issa left. She had her babies not too long after I became a member 3 years ago. Crazylady - Happy Anniversary!
