Another holiday, another doodle...
I notice that today's Google doodle or whatever they call it features a "sea to shining sea" theme, there's Lady Liberty, fireworks, our mascot the bald eagle, there's a rainbow, but there's not a single american flag anywhere to be found amongst the images. Can they just not bring themselves to do it? Is the flag the exclusive symbol of conservatives in America? Do the leftwing fruitcakes at Google (who managed to work in a rainbow) hate the flag that much? Could they not work in a frame of the Declaration?
I mean shit, people- is Google really just incapable of any common sense at all?

I've worked with programmers from Google (only two, I'll grant you). I wouldn't consider them leftist by any means. Must be their PR department.

I don't know how to go to this Google doddle thingy. Did they also leave out a Mother and apple pie? How about a pickemup truck? NASCAR? Mt. Rushmore?

Ok... Let's just check out Google's history of obvious left-wing flag-ignoring 4th of July logos over the years: 2010 - 2009 - 2008 - 2007 - 2006 - 2005 - 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000

Thank you MN-- by contrast, you're making my point. Let's put the 2011 up there and ask ourselves once again: what in hell is wrong with Google?

Our flag colors are clearly part of the 2011 logo.

Nice that they have our colors, but I want to see our FLAG. So get hired by Google and maybe you can make next year's logo. Seriously, get a life, folks! Independence Day is not the flag. The flag is just one symbol of the United States. Obviously Google recognizes that there's more to the holiday than mere flag waving and they have very nicely displayed that in a very small logo. Good for them!

This is the biggest copy of this year's Google logo that I can find: I am impressed by what they included in such a small logo! It clearly reflects our nation from sea to shining sea. It certainly represent "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." You know... things actually in the Declaration of Independence. You might want to re-read the Declaration. There's absolutely no mention of a flag.

You have the red, white, and blue in the Google letters. The states, represented by stripes and stars on the flag, are represented by various symbols in Google's logo. It's a graphic representation of the flag. You know... art. Don't be so literal, use your imagination!

Holy Crap! Some folks will bitch about any and everything. Seriously, email google your complaint and move on....life is too short to spend the 4th of July getting upset over the freakin' google logo.

Nice that they have our colors, but I want to see our FLAG. Then, hang one in your front yard and go out and look at it. For crying out loud! Google recognized the holiday in their way. It was tasteful, inclusive, and downright creative, as far as I'm concerned.
