I know it's summer and I know that it's the slow season for deals, but c'mon CVS, throw us a bone!! The 7/24 ad preview freebies are Paper Mate Pens $1.99 and get a $1.99 EB. There is also a deal on Lumene; doesn't matter, I didn't get the Q. I don't need it anyway. This week I got the Complete and the Balance bar on my cards. Looks like I'll be digging into my rain checks to roll next week's EBs or I might just burn them. I haven't been too excited about anything they've offered in weeks. There is nothing to roll the ECBS on, but Vlasic pickles will be on sale for 1$ next week and there is a smartsource Q for 55c. I used some of my ECBs on cereal this week and did the same deal as frugalsuz and rolled one of my 10$ ECBs on the JF root lifting foam. ETA - I received a 5$/25 email Q and had 2 of the 5$ JF Qs and that's why I decided to do the JF deal

Small transaction at RA today.
Samy fat foam (reg 9.99) = 7.99 - used 3$ FB Q and 5$ VVQ and got back 5 Up Balsamic Vinegar = 1$ Cherry candy = 0.26
Used 1$ VVQ and paid 50c cash including 25c tax. I just wanted to used the 5$ VVQ that I had for the Samy and make a profit of 5$.

I just bought a bunch of Mt. Olive bread and butter pickles, so I'll get some dill spears with this Vlasic deal. You can bet that I'll also be looking for an opportunity to get a rain check. Why is it that my computer never wants to print SS coupons? Why can't they just put the darn things in the Sunday inserts?

dancin- Scientific calculators- Staples had the most popular models of TI on sale. They usually run those on sale right through the first month of school- but I saw them as low as $80- cheapest I've ever seen them. TI is the preferred brand by most schools and colleges. If you can, go with at least an 84 series with the usb hookup- will make her life easier. Graph paper- RA was where my late grandfather always found the best deals on this. Other stores are probably having sales as well, or depending on the teacher- they may recommend a site wher yo can print out your graph paper. I have a template in one of my word processor programs I use.

I was happy with Meijer's Angel Soft two day sale in our area. $1.85 for 6 double rolls. The package holds 200 square feet. Use the .50 coupon from a month or two ago or an IP and yep, I got a few packages. TP stockpile is very good now. Angel Soft hasn't messed up our plumbing. Northern or Cottonelle have.... I also got Jamba Smoothies. $2.35 on sale, used $1.00 off IP and Meijer Mealbox coupon for $1.00 off two. $.85 per package. It's supposed to be heck hot this weekend.
Dancin', congratulations on the $1000. savings! A couple of years ago, our assessment bill was wrong. Suddenly our house grew a basement and an extra bathroom! I called and asked them to find them so I could make use of them. Or to at least come over and put them in and I would gladly pay the extra taxes. They changed the assessment very quickly.

Dancin I have been complaining to my fav CVS mgr about the bad ads/deals for weeks. He says his wife has been telling him the same and she is also a major couponer. I didn’t even do this week’s freebies as both are items I will not use & the tax is 10%. Its been pretty much the same at natl chain grocers. My independents and produce markets have each had an item or 2 each week but a LOT of chasing.

I have a template in one of my word processor programs I use. Check the schools website for the required calculator first. Most schools will tell you the exact calculator to buy. They also tell you what ones are not allowed. Most schools stopped allowing the TI-83 programmable types years ago. They found that the students were down loading programs that could solve the tests for them. My daughter's Honors Algebra II next year only allows the TI type calculator, middle school variety, that cost $10-13. But DH's engineer tests all had the same restriction too so it really wasn't that big a surprise. I think the cheapest place we found was at Target.

beachbum- I remember when I had to have my first scientific calculator- it cost $7 and all my mother complained about through the Woolworth's (sp?) store was the price of that blasted calculator! My grandfather loved that thing and when I didn't need it anymore, I gave it to him to "play" with. Had a nice little "leather" cover and was solar powered. Now my TI-84Plus... Thank Goodness for Financial Aid! I almost had a heart attack when I went back to college at 27/28 years old and they told me I needed a $115-120 calculator for algebra. I asked if they were really still teaching algebra. We weren't allowed to have those in algebra when I was in school. Had to solve everything by hand.

I did it, I went to Rite Aid, got the rewards card, and did a little shopping.
I mostly went in because of the Folgers coffee on sale for $7.99. Good deal, plus I had a $1.00 off Q, so it was even sweeter for $6.99. And I got some Aquafina water for $4.49, and got back a $1.50 UP.
Then went to Walgreens, did a great deal on toothpaste -- not quite free, but close. Colgate (2@3.49) B1G1 Minus - 2.00 RR Minus - 1.00 Mfg Q Total $.49, plus $.18 tax, total OOP $.67 And I continue to be impressed with Walgreens, the cashier at first scanned the $1.00 Q, then the $2.00 RR, and it beeped. A manager came over and had her reverse the order, and it accepted them. So helpful.
Last I went to CVS They were out of the BIC Soleil razors, so I got a raincheck. And the cashier took my $3.00 off Q and stapled it to the raincheck, and she wrote on the raincheck that they would honor the Q. I did get this deal: Scott Toilet Extra Soft toilet paper 12 pack triple rolls $7.99 Less $1.00 Q OOP $6.99 plus tax (and this passed the tp test) Paid for this with a $7.00 ECB - free toilet paper is a wonderful thing!

I went to RA today, just to pick up some random things for SCRs....OY VEY. Firstly, I need to WATCH my cashier! I bought 2 boxes of crayons, she rang up 3. Secondly, I need to check my receipt before I leave the store, because the entire top of it (with the info needed for SCRs) is GONE. Thirdly, I think that cashier is new, because I used UPS to pay for everything, even tax, and it wound up that she had to give ME 30 cents back. So I am going to try to go back tomorrow and return the things I bought for SCRs, just so I can get a new and useful receipt. Wish me luck!

Hello all! I need alittle help. Went to my local Acme and bought the nature valley granola thins and fiber one brownies ( both are really good) I was supposed to get a $ 2 cat and one for free milk. Nothing printed. Is there any way to go about getting them? Or have I just lost the chance? If any one has an idea I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Here's the link: www.couponnetwork.com/contact-usI've heard other people have had very good response with contacting them. I didn't see a phone #, but perhaps you can find one.

Thanks Leanna. Sent a request. It would have given me back $4 of the $7 I spent and 2 gallons of milk. Hoping I can get it fixed.

Family Dollar: I went today to use up a lot of Cover Girl Q's on manicure and pedicure items, namely Queen Collection. I saw this deal earlier on a blog and decided to do it. Well, I got 16 items and paid $1.76 in tax. I did run into some major headaches there as none of the Q's were coming off. So cashier called manager and then proceded to manually take off $1.00 and $1.50 at a time. I used several Cover Girl $1.00 Q's and also some $2.50 Q's. She tried explaining to me that they (?) want you to spend more than the coupon is worth. I told her I didn't usually spend anything but tax. She was a very nice cashier but didn't understand the concept of couponing. In the end, I got all of the items free, but with some major frustration. Family Dollar also had a $5/25 Q today but they don't want you to use other coupons to get your total down to nothing. Needless to say, I passed on that offer.
I spent more than I usually do for groceries at Meijer today but the carnivores in my family wanted meat, so that's what I mainly got. I passed on CVS and Rite Aid. Like many of you, I too am bored with their ads lately.

Has anyone seen any deals on graph paper of scientific calculator's? My daughter needs it for math class. Can't believe that they go back to school Aug 10th. The TI scientific and graphing calculators are all on sale this week starting today. I believe that you can get an extra 15% if you have their savings card also. I think I am just going to get out of the drug store game for a while. It almost seems like more trouble than it is worth right now. There is just nothing I need that they have had on sale or that I can roll. I will probably just buy some toilet paper next week and burn them and get the gas card as my last week for a while.

Home 6, you can call the Rite Aid store you bought the stuff at and talk to the manager. You need to know what register you were at and approximately what time and everything you bought. The manager will look it up on the register just like he would do after you fill out the SCR thing online to verify for RA that you actually bought what you are supposed to. I had it happen and the manager I spoke to was incredibly nice and found the transaction number and such for me and called me back with the info. Hope it helps. ;D

Thanks, beachbum! I think I'm just going to go into the store anyway, to see if I can get my money back for the crayons that I didn't buy. THIS is what happens when you go shopping with kids! They distract you!
And leanna, they were just regular 'July-wide' SCRs, nothing weekly. I had been going to get some Crest, but they were all out. Just as well, in retrospect.
