Obama is doing a good job with the mess he had handed to him. Bush did a good job too, considering that 9/11 happened so early in his presidency. Considering Obama sat in the Senate from January 2005 - November 2008, I'd say he was part of the problem that was handed to him. Classic- Obama had the "mess handed to him" but 9.11 happened "so early in his presidency" for Bush. I don't even think you did it on purpose. I think it's just something that happens when a story line gets hammered over and over again. Bush is a class act, so he never pulled an Obama and pointed the finger at his predecessors that held office during 4 years and 2 months of the 5 years of the planning of the attacks on 9.11.01. I thought he was a good leader for this- but that doesn't mean I can't state the obvious: Bush was handed yet another foreign policy disaster area- same as every Democrat has handed every Republican since the two parties were formed. Obama was handed Osama, we know now, as a result of Bush era policies that Obama repeatedly criticized, and even rescinded. But I digress. What you can learn from Ronald Reagan is that Republicans must fearlessly, unapologetically move forward with a small government agenda appealing directly to the PEOPLE to cause Democrats to go along with it because it's so obviously popular and there's no way politically for Dems to oppose it-- even if at heart they do.

That, and while doing it- smile. Laugh at Democrats. Make fun of liberalism. It's easy to do, and everyone instinctively knows the other side is a bunch of clowns. They're just waiting for permission to laugh at them.

I really don't have a lot of gripes about Reagan, even if I do take a jab at him here and there. Overall, he was a decent president, and I think his brand of foreign policy was what we needed at the time. So, contrary to what some conservatives thought "all" liberals would do, I'm not going to use this thread as a Reagan-bashing soapbox. me too Shirina, no matter what some here keeps preaching as to how we middle to the left or even extreme lefts might do in our posting on the man, the ones posting such claims are wrong, again, and I posted my feelings on our former President earlier on this thread..while he wasn't my favorite President while in office, still don't think his call on the Air traffic Controllers was necessary, he and we lucked out by not having some bad accidents, and no , for me he wasn't the greatest communicater, I also belive I may not have given him the credit he deserved, many of those I do admire say only good things about his Presidency and I go along with them, admit I was possible WRONG in my feelings of his Presidency. Just for once , and it will never happen here IMHO, and now I am doing what some other persons do here, posted what they feel how Libs will react on this thread, how they would feel and do. So I will do the same, why not, precident has been made on that. I would never expect any of them to EVER say anything positive about our current POTUS, his actions, admit possible their paranoia of everything Obama is a bit much, and give some support to him when he deserved it and he has. Better to look for those important mistakes, the Toast to the Queen and the UK, the blame on the Limo getting stuck in a driveway, , his attending foreign chit chats with other world leaders, his failure to, oops, sorry there, he DID show up at Arlington, and his having 400 Navy ships accompany , opps, that one was wrong too, and his to frequent golf games..tsk, tsk, why oh why is he not spending 24/7 at that desk in that little office of his.. to expect anything but that, never happen , IMHO of course.
