"If Rick Perry wants to run, he should. If he doesnt he should not. But the press should shut up about it." Problem is, the press these days informs us like its a soap opera. I have not seen the press dig deeper into issues beyond the polls. Seems like our representatives and the press think we are stupid based on the reporting and politics. I know the financial institutions count on our ignorance - if they think we are getting wise they get out and dis-inform us.

The Propaganda Arm of the Democratic Party expects to hand us a turd candidate in 2012 as they did in 2008. Hopefully conservatives are awake to this scheme. Whichever conservative or moderate the MSM praises is by definition a turd in the punchbowl. They don't like ANY conservative or moderate. They like liberal progressives and want to destroy conservatives and moderates. Don't be fooled by all the pretense.

They are scared of Perry because Texas is kicking butt in this pathetic economy as leading job creator. Of course Obama wants to get rid of him. They don't want jobs, they want dependents that will vote Dem in 2012 and praise Obamacare.

I've modified my ideas many times from things I have learned on the board. We can all giggle here, or we can offer up things some people may not know, and may read. Heck, I always thought I was liberal until I started reading political boards and found out I am really center right.

I've changed my mind on some things. I used to think that Republicans were all good.
I still think liberals are all bad in terms of ideology and policy and even in terms of morality as displayed by the political modus operandi in all aspects. The more I learn the more strongly do I want to see liberalism defeated in this country. So I've changed in that way. Grown stronger in my commitment to speak out against liberal leaders and liberal policies.

Rick Perry is probably the strongest of the [potential] candidates. The problem is that he's waited so long to express an interest. Texas has very nearly the best economic record during this latest recession and that is his strongest point. Also, he doesn't have to deal with the resistance of some conservatives to vote for a Mormon and he hasn't initiated a state run universal medical plan. Otherwise, he's similar to Romney, but still, he is at least perceived as more conservative than Romney. Superficially, Perry looks like the best choice for a conservative Republican, but Romney might very well stand a better chance in attracting independent, moderate voters. Since this thread is about Perry, I'd just suggest that his strength to liability ratio is about as good as anyone, the fact that he's a Republican Governor of Texas is probably his biggest liability.
