These 'gotcha' videos are fluff. They never show the respondents who decline to sign. People who do sign could be doing so for any number of reasons. Most realize the petition is symbolic and add their signature as a token expression of disapproval.
You could easily get video of two dozen conservatives signing their name to a document declaring Pres. Obama should be shot into the sun. That fact wouldn't diminish my opinion of conservatives one iota.
The video does make it obvious how easy it is to collect signatures to support an arbitrary cause. It looks like they've picked up at least a hundred by the middle of the clip.

Liberals sign petition to ban free speech
And this is a surprise to who? From what I have seen look at everything that liberals accuse conservatives of doing & then turn it around. They say that conservatives are gun packing nuts but then look at people killed for political reasons. It's usually a liberal pulling the trigger. When liberals worry about someone saying something bad about them the FIRST thing they do is accuse the other person or party of doing it.
Oh & liberals don't want to ban free speech. They just want to ban the free speech of anyone that doesn't agree with them.

The person who got the kids to sign is a master artist. He creates proposals that sound cool and then gets kids to sign it. Apparently, last time he got the kids signing a petition to ban water, claiming that the petition was in support of the environment. Nifty trick. Then the conservative websites carry the news in the age of the internet.

Anyone here ever sign a blind petition?
Every petition I have ever signed has had what the petition is for typed on top of the signature space, detailing exactly what and why you are signing it. Perhaps these students will have learned a very valuable lesson, know what you are signing before you sign. Hopefully these people won't just believe what the loan officers say when it comes time to make serious choices in life.
