Yeah, you don't want to tell the voters the truth that things need to change and some of those changes might hurt....much easier to keep passing the buck until there are no other options and then complain that nothing was done before then....  I agree wholeheartedly. Republicans should be very open about the fact that seniors have to lose SS and Medicare. They are no other options. I would also throw in a tax cut for the rich just to be totally on the safe side. Democrats should be very open that changes are going to have to be made, but we both know that scare tactics like you just mentioned work much better in the voting booth. Just to be totally safe, I'd tell everybody that everything is perfectly fine if those evil rich people would just pay their fair share...
