I did not at all defend wife beaters. I was discussing how women inhabit a completely different world from men. Women do have to walk on eggshells where sex is concerned. Where? In Iran? Pakistan? This is the USofA.

Yes, this is the USA where women are raped every day. This is the USA where one must be careful what time of day one is about, where one is and who one is with. This is the USA where a cop can let himself into a drunk women's apartment, repeatedly rape her and go scot-free. Most wise women don't encourage penis pictures from men they are not in a relationship with, it is easy enough to get attacked without asking for attention from wierdos. No need to encourage, just delete and move on. But you are now changing the topic. Earlier you said that the reason such junk mails are dangerous is because the fathers would go out shooting and the husbands are going to beat the woman up. Now you are saying that women would get raped if they receive junk mail, which makes no sense whatsoever. I can't even see how you make the connection. I got the earlier connections of sociopath fathers and husbands who are woman abusers.

Do you read the news? All the sexting that Weiner did was consensual. The 21-year old claimed to be a girlfriend of Weiner. Sheesh!

Weiner has confessed to being involved with a myriad of women, including a 16-year old. You are several days behind on the news cycle. Nope, no 16 year old. All the sexting was to adults. But now that even you admit that Weiner was sexting with people who consented to it, what's your problem?

See this is why you need to read the news. The family of the 17-year-old says the contact was online via Twitter, and the tweets "were not salacious or in any manner inappropriate." No photographs were ever sent to her, an attorney representing the family said in a statement Sunday.ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-621190?ref=feeds%2FlatestAs for adultery? You don't like it? Don't commit it. It is completely legal.

Have you read any of the stories? He was messaging girls below the age of consent. He sent pictures of his unclothed penis, and he admitted to relationships with at least 6 women, all of this while his wife gestated his child. If you have any proof of Weiner sending pictures of his unclothed penis to underage girls, post it. As for his relationships, who cares? Not my business nor yours. No law was broken.

NY unfortunately, has become a real cesspool. We recently got rid of a Senator who sliced a woman's eye open with a glass (previously he had attempted to run a man down with his car). Another, was bounced for assault, still another for stealing funds meant to provide healthcare to the poor. Time to clean house. That you compare consensual relationships which broke no laws to the above shows how off reality you truly are. Anyway, Weiner's constituents disagree with you and they want him to stay. So you don't have a say.

For Pete's sake. It has been in all the papers and he does not even deny it. He only waffles about it and cannot say, "God no, I wouldn't send a picture like "THAT." It says the world that he is not sure whether he did or did not. Several laws have been broken, including ones involving abuse under color of authority, sexual harrassment and mis-appropriation of property. An ordinary clerk would be bounced from his or her job for far less than using an employer's phone for phone sex. If it has been all over the papers that laws were broken surely you will be able to provide a link?

So I am supposed to go do the research to prove your claim? Look, you know very well that no laws have been broken. You are pissed because Weiner hurts your social conservative sentiments. Fine, but you need to understand something. Such sentiments are private matters. Public policy is based on law. Conservatives for a long time have been trying to shove their private morality down the throat of the country. Not working my friend and will never work.

No, you merely need to turn on the television or radio if you are truly interested. There is no way to prove anything to anyone if he chooses not to believe it. Some people believe the earth is flat, others that the solar system revolves around the earth instead of the sun. Some believe that the age of the Earth is 4000 years old. To each his own. Look, just one definitive link that proves Weiner broke any law - that's all it will take for me to concede to you that he should resign. Just one. You would rather sulk than provide that link? I am fairly well aware of the situation. Despite multiple attempts to prove that some kidn of a law was broken, nothing came out of it. The whole hoopla is about how he behaved badly. I don't care about his private behavior and nor should you. Even Faux News has given up on trying to prove that he broke any law. All they are saying is that Weiner had a big penis, larger than most conservatives, so he must go. Ok, may be they arenot exactly saying that, but they clearly are jealous.

If you believe that anyone can have so many scandals going on at once and still retain credibility and the ability to lead, you are living in a dreamworld.
It doesn't matter what you or I think, it matters what Weiner's constituents think. They think it is totally doable and like it or not this is a democracy.
By the way, I agree that Weiner has many scandals going on at once, and I very happy that you have stepped back from the he-broke-the-law nonsense to just saying that he has scandals going. Of course, if people didn't care about his private life he would have no scandals going in the first plac.e But Republicans always want to poke into the private life of individuals. So much for the party of freedom.

You know quite a few states still have laws on the books addressing adultery, most carry a fine ranging from 100$ up to3k$ and 6-12 months in jail, the statues aren't upheld, but be careful saying he didn't break the law, just because the state you send from doesn't have laws doesn't mean the state you send to doesn't as well.

You are confusing adultery laws with indecency laws. Indecency laws of the recipient state doesn't matter as you can't viably sue the sender in the recipient state (jurisdiction issue). This is the same reason USA cannot go after internet casinos run out of the Carribean. As for adultery laws, $100-3000? 6-12 months in jail? Which century are these laws from?

His career is over. His "support" is all in his Narcissistic brain. Thanks for posting that, toughtimes. Although we read what the media says about Weiner's constituency, it's good to hear from someone who is actually a part of that constituency. You'll have a good feel for what your neighbors are thinking and feeling. While, to me, the man is repulsive, he's ultimately responsible to his constituency, IMO.

Also, ironically enough, I am a Democrat and a former supporter of Weiner's. Just the whole business of turning oneself into a laughingstock reeks of poor judgement and entitlement. So far as what his constituents want, they want a politician who can effectively represent them and that is not Weiner. Also, regarding state laws, if he had sent the same material to a 17 year old residing in New York instead of Delaware, he would be facing major charges. Our age of consent is one year later. Look, his constituents were polled and majority want Weiner to stay, OK? You may know what is good for them better than they do themselves, but I don't think they care. The 17-year old's lawyer is on record saying that nothing indecent was sent. So even if she was in New York, that wouldn't be breaking the law. So now you are saying that if he had sent indecent materials to a 17 year old (which he didn't do) in New York (which he didn't do either) then he would be breaking the law. Yeah, if he urinated on the sidewalk while drunk he would be breaking the law as well. But he didn't do that, so what's your point? Imagining that he broke a law wouldn't make it so.

You cannot believe what a firestorm this is producing locally. Rep. King of Long Island wants him tossed, the governor wants him tossed, the president wants him tossed, Pelosi wants him tossed, and he thinks he can pass legislature? Who is he kidding. He will be tossed farther than a basketball from mid-court. His constituents think he can pass legislature. That's all that matters in a democracy.

The ABC Poll will turn out to be just as accurate as the poll that called the election for Dewey. Mark my words. You should get a job in Gallop.

Tell me something folks, it seems that all the women are outraged at Weiner. Why is that? If Palin posted a picture of her assets I can assure you that the men would be cheering. Some might even vote for her.

I couldn't imagine it being any other way, toughtimes. Still, we've seen politicians re-elected in the past after being found to be involved in nefarious actions. It's good to hear from someone who actually knows what's going on.

Aww come on, face it. This sort of thing is a resume enhancement in some circles. It certainly enhanced the resume of Senator Vitter. He was cheered on the Senate floor by his Republican colleagues. Some circles are just that strange.

We recently dumped Senator Monserrate for taking a glass to his girlfriend's eye. People in Queens are fed-up with politicians right about now. Come on, as you yourself said, may be he was just hot headed.

Come on, as you yourself said, may be he was just hot headed. And he most likely committed a felony -- domestic abuse is highly frowned upon. However, as for Weiner's wife, I would be embarassed and possibly clock him over the head for being so stupid. I am sure, since he said she knew he did this, that she warned him about the worse case scenario. However, ever the optimist, I am sure she is pleased that he was not trying to solicit gay sex in a restroom.
