Most of the voters in Weiner's district do not want him to resign, most of "moderate to liberal" columnists don't think it's a big deal ~ except for Kirsten Powers [an ex-friend, girlfriend who came to his defense based on his lies to her and is now disenchanted].
The upstate Republican Congressman who resigned over a shirtless Internet photo was from upstate NY where the standards are a little different. Remember; this is New York City where Charlie Rangel replaced Adam Clayton Powell and still reigns despite abuses of office. Weiner's offenses presumably don't involve abuse of power or actual physical conduct [unlike President Clinton].
Rep. Weiner actually seems to represent his district pretty well both in terms of his politics and his moral standards. We pays our money and we takes our choices.
