Two of his former close aids left Newt Gingrich campaign and took 15 or so others with them.

Wow, I just mentioned him on another thread as someone that might be interesting to look at for the Republicans in 2012

He will cut spending like there is no tomorrow. Even his own Texan Republican legislature is against his cuts and tax breaks. Bunch of whiners. Has anyone told them that there is a recession going on and people need to tighten their belts now? Unless the budget is balanced there is no way we can emerge from this recession prosperous again, and that will need massive spending cuts. Obama is not going to do it. So we need someone tough like Perry.

NBC News Lester Holt just said Governor Perry may make an announcement about his intentions to run or not run for President

He should run. We need someone like him to gut the DoE, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. He is also in favor of tax cuts and exemptions for corporations.

Keep in mind that the repubs will have to gain control of the Senate and hold the House should he run and win. Otherwise all his great plans will go up in smoke. This is the problem with any Republican who would win the Presidency. As a fact either side to get anythng done will have to have a majority in both the Senate and house. Personally at this point I do not see that happening.

He should have at the minimum gutted SS and Medicare in the 6 years he had.

Many of the aids who left were in the early primary states. This could get interesting.

We rank about 49th in education now and our disabled waiting lists have thousands upon thousands waiting for services. And you want this to spread to the rest of the country. He took the stimulus money 2 years ago to make up a huge budget shortfall, of course, that wasn't publisized. He kept blustering about withdrawing from the union, so he doesn't even like the US, why would he want to be pres, so he can dismantle the US and give most of it to Mexico? He gave everything to big business and is not about to cut it, they like to pay very low wages down here when they can and provide no benefits, we are in about the same shape as Louisiana and Alabama, we are all vying for the bottom of the rung down here. This is the kind of president you want for this country. He cares nothing about the people of this state and now he can't hide the deficit this time so he is going to kill it so he wants out before it dies. So yep run for president. He will leave ruin in his wake. If he took the stimulus money then he is not the kind of person I would vote for. The rest is fine by me. I will not be impacted by any of that plus likely get a tax cut. The companies I invest in will likely get tax cuts as well and their profits and share prices will soar. Bring it on. However, why in the world did he accept the stimulus money? This is precisely why I believe that today's conservatives are not real conservatives. Ridiculous!

He took it because you can only cut basic services so low without tax increases. Texas is in a world of hurt. I'm sure he is ready to get out of this mess, so he cuts more before he leaves, the citizens be damned. I disagree. You can dissolve the state Govt and then you have no spending whatsoever.

He is just another jerk out to line his own pockets like most other politicians....of BOTH parties!
This one, however, doesn't like to answer questions....and some times refuses to!

I wonder what he'll focus on other than turning the entire interstate highway system into toll roads.

Like he has a snowballs chance in hell anyway- go ahead and run. This guy is one dispicable pos- has blood on his hands too as he sat by and let a man be executed in the face of evidence he was innocent- and then got in the way of the investigation to that fact. What a scumbag.

Another big revenue source will be to outlaw mortgage interest deduction from income taxes. I see no reason why the rich has to subsidize mortgages for the middle class. Give that money back in tax cuts already.

It's just a reality. 47% of US households that currently have $0 federal income tax liability are going to have to be welcomed to the taxpaying fold. It will likely be required to shift to a consumption tax like the www.fairtax.org and away from taxation of savings, income, and investment. We need to encourage production and discourage-- espeically over the long term, consumption.

I want to STOP using the 10,000 +/- page tax code for social engineering and wealth redistribution. If you're an American, you pay. If you're not an American, you pay MORE. But EVERYONE pays SOMETHING.
