Although I hate to think that any politician today can be re-elected based on a soapbox of Change. Been there, done that. When did we get to be a country where we vote for the least of the worst candidates? Has it always been this way?

Any true conservative should stay home on Election Day unless the Republicans field a candidate worth voting for, who would cut taxes and cut spending even more.

I wouldn't either. In 2008, Alaskans loved her (even my ultra-liberal friends).

How could a "true conservative" keep his/her head up high after he/she refuses to use the vote? I bet those same people complain about everything under the sun after the fact too.

Tax policy alone does not make the man, and your Norquist is very... multi-layered. He could NEVER win a Rep ticket. Heck, I'll go with Cain and his Fair Tax thing before I will go Norquist and his elitist, comedian, Muslim expansion plan..

The only way to take the Republicans towards spend cutting is to force a few election defeats. Short term pain for long term gain.

Stay home and cry like a baby because my fav doesn't win?? Give Obama a second term because I'm a whiner?? Not happening. I will vote for whoever is most likely to beat Obama.

I don't think the Govt should make any other policy than taxation and very minimal spend. I couldn't care less about someone's social or religious policy. That's not an area the Govt should be in anyway. Just enforce property laws and get the hell out of everything else.

Here is a copy of the email you just sent to Rush Limbaugh, The Doctor of Democracy: Rush, I was excited about Sarah Palin's looks when she was introduced by McCain as his running mate. She looked gorgeous and sweet and I was glad. THEN SHE OPENED HER MOUTH. My husband feels the same way. IT'S HER VOICE AND HER MANGLING OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE THAT OFFENDS OUR EARS.
I share her values and her views completely. I JUST WISH SHE WOULD TAKE ELOCUTION LESSONS AND LEARN TO EXPRESS HERSELF WITH FEWER NEEDLESS WORDS. Do you NOT agree that she speaks through her nose and mangles the language? ? I wish like hell you would address this. I think you are selling women short to just assume that most women hate her because she's beautiful, successful and beloved. I've sat on juries and I have seen first hand that women are harder on each other than they are on men. I think it's hard wired into us. But there is clearly a different problem that accounts for at least some of the vitriol expressed toward Sarah Palin. I've told you before and I'll tell you again, I think it's a bad thing that she won't consider some self-improvement in regards to her voice and use of language. If she were on a management track in the corporate world it would be a given. It's called getting polished. It doesn't hurt ANYONE to indulge in a little self-improvement. You'd do it yourself. You probably have done it. Love and kisses, Marshabar I added the love and kisses part.

Dysfunctional family?? How so? They stick together, no matter what. That is what families do. They don't kill their inconvenient babies, either. I like that, too. And Todd doesn't whine because Sarah is so famous. That's what liberals consider dysfunctional. Functional for liberals would be two mommies, three or four dead babies, a couple of gay kids and everyone's living off the government...

I noticed no one answered that one. How can they?? No one answered that because it was bluerobin (a conservative) who called her family dysfunctional. But, way for you guys to assume that liberals applied that label to her. Maybe you should check who said what next time.

Lol...and conservatives consider a functional family one in wich all the relatives are married. They all wear wife beaters, beat their wives and have sex with family members don't they?

Well hell, CME, if those are the things liberal politicians are inflamed about why is it not correct to say that those are the values they hold dear? The only thing Obama worked on during his tenure in the Illinois senate was abortion. He went to Planned Parenthood and offered himself as their advocate. He worked hard to be sure living aborted babies would die. He didn't seem very interested in anything else. Liberals cry bloody murder when entitlements are threatened. They work tooth and nail to make sure black farmers get restitution. They fight the vast majority of American people to implement laws allowing gay marriage. They fight the vast majority of American people to get gay issues taught in elementary school. These are facts. This is what liberals want. Ed nailed it. Sorry but it's true. Very sorry that it's true. One guy sure thinks 47 year old Sarah Palin is a ten. Only guy that counts right?

I don't think Palin's looks or her family should have anything to do with her electability. Nor should her way of speech. It is her core principles that are suspect.

May I call you Raving Lunatic? ;D I love her core principles. But I don't think she expresses them effectively and I don't think she necessarily works well with others.

I personally think her core principals pretty much involve whatever she thinks will benefit her the most, but that is jmo.

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!! What are you some kind of heathan sent from the devil, evt? No, but calling her a 10 insults the real 10's. I'd give her a 5, and bump it to seven if it was Tina Fey dressed like her. As I said, just go to a Kroger on a weekend and you will find much hotter women. Or a gym, lake, park, bar etc. Now admitting that personality and such can move the numbers I can see how people of a certain political bend skew her number higher than if she was a liberal. Can we at least agree Ann Coulter is a 2 on a good day?

addressing message # 69: Because, I know several rather liberal families, they are traditional families, 1 daddy, 1 mommy, no abortions, no gay kids (yet and the kids range from 8 upto and including 50), not living off the government. addressing message #75: I am also rather conservative, I am not a wife beater, I do not beat my wife (still not sure why that was addressed twice), I do have sex with a family member (my wife, when she lets me ) This all of one political persuasion fall into this category, is the stupidest argument that anyone can have, it shows that the ones who throw the generalities out have no concept of true discussion, it also shows exactly how closed minded that person is, you either see it my way which is the right way or you must be mentally deficient, it does absolutely nothing except close off conversation and derail threads. The over-generalizations are the antithesis to true discourse, the bane of parley.

The over-generalizations are the antithesis to true discourse, the bane of parley. That same old argument, CME. Nobody is referring to specific liberals. It is the policies of the left that are being commented on. Liberal politicians and the people who vote for them support those things therefore they can be characterized as holding those values. Nobody is saying EVERY liberal exhibits those behaviors. Hell most people who vote for Democrats probably don't even know what their vote supports. It's not about YOU. It is a general observation and a very clear and accurate one at that.
