I don't find that shocking considering the wording was "In political terms, is Barack Obama more conservative than you are, more liberal than you are or about the same?"
He is going to automatically lose all republicans & then 13% believe he is more conservative than them. So 24% agreeing seems reasonable, I doubt that any president gets much higher than that.

Interestingly, Angel, the above quote (from the article cited by the link) rather proves your point, I think.

I think most people taking the polls really don't even know what their political view are, they are just agreeing to agree or disagreeing to disagree no reason or rhyme behind it.

So now almost a quarter of the US population is communist? Looks like they've made some solid gains over the years.

Voters think Obama is more ideologically liberal than they are, while only 13% view him as more conservative. So 13% of the people think President Obama is more conservative than they are......Lahakota, Warsaw & I wonder who the others are? So now almost a quarter of the US population is communist?I think they are actually much more socialist than communist. But it's early yet so you can never tell which way it will go.

Um, to be a socialist you have to want to socialize industries-- but keep alienating 70% of the country with the wild eyed talk...

And Health Reform is not socializing the industry, just regulating it.- FINALLY, and helping poorer workers pay.

The govt will be setting the price in this health care bill. That is socializing...along with numerous other mandates.
The govt has been helping low income workers for 50 years.
ETA: the health industry is already very heavily regulated.

Insurance is the most regulated business in the US and has been regulated since the 1870s. Look up the NAIC.
Government meddling in the system has hurt it significantly. They currently make up half of the total health care expenditures. Giving them more of the pie will not fix the problems that have risen as the government share of the pot has increased.

You start small & get your foot in the door. NOBODY would jump at the idea of giving up their business & property (oh goody, your going to take my house, business, & everything else). Social Security (why do you think they call it "Social"?) was the first step. Other government programs were little steps & of course President Obama's wealth distribution Obamacare is a program big enough (especially if you add it to what we already have) to force a change of our form of government because of the amount of money that will be needed. Of course we will already be in that before it becomes apparent but then it's just another small step & we are there.
As far as "but keep alienating 70% of the country with the wild eyed talk... " nope, anybody with reason can see it coming, anybody that can add can see it coming, & anybody with their eyes open can see it coming.
Warsaw I've got a feeling that you will live long enough to see the changes that have to happen. I'm just not sure that you will be open minded enough to understand what liberals have done (if it's not repealed). Of course some people go to their grave in complete denial but I hope your not one of them. I'd like to hope that you have at least one moment of clarity when you reflect.

I totally agree that Obama has been a disgrace to the nation. He needs to pull back all forces immediately from Iraq and Afghanistan. We can't afford to spend on the military. He also needs to cut spending and again I would start with the military, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, any state assistance (why should the poor states benefit from the largesse of my rich state?), any education assistance, agricultural subsidies, all of that. We can lower taxes to no more than 10% if we do that.

Warsaw pulled a Weiner and posted garbage, but I saw it, as he removed it. I guess the Democrats did not learn anything from Weiner. Weiner pulled his picture after he realized what he did, but alas it was too late. Same for Warsaw

I like the way Mr ravinglunatic thinks. I would expand his strategy and cut about 70% of all government useless departments and agencies that do nothing to improve the bottom line of the country. What do you do with all these useless people? Don't know and don't care. When their fantasy job disappears and they have to face the reality it will be a beautiful thing.

Ha ha - we already know it is 25%. Axing 70% of the federal government is more or less included in that figure. It helps the bottom line anyway, you only have to pay them UI then finally welfare, still cheaper than their salaries/benefits and pensions.

Burns, the last few months there has been monthly reports that Government employment has fallen a few thousand every month. It is mostly at the state level, but it is a start.

Correct but how much has it expanded at the federal level? I created a thread, rare for me, a couple of months ago concerning some idiotic dem woman in California who wanted to create a whole new department to track truck shipments across freeways. Don't know what happened with that but it doesn't sound like they're willing to shrink government size/intrusion anytime soon.
