I am really trying to get a handle on how these Bush Tax cuts are good for the country, I really am. My understanding is by continuing , I believe they amounted to a bit under 3 % more for those who have income over a million per year, something in that figure, please don't get picky, picky on me if I am off a bit...this will have those in these brackets spending more $ in the States, Invest, if in business possible add payroll what ever , a win, win for the US that would off set the revenue the US government would get if they were not extended. So I was wondering what these well off folks might do with their extra $ that find their way into their pockets. Not all but some of them, how to use these extra $, better use then the government getting the $ , as if we can't use the extra revenue. Low and behold a small article in todays local paper.. Bids for Warren Buffet lunch already soaring over $1.5 million. The annual charity auction for lunch with the legendary 80 year old investor, began Sunday night . Last years winner paid $2.63 million for the right to dine with Buffet, restaurant actually a nice place, Manhattans steak house , Smith and Wollensky, you might want to google. The price nearly tripled in the last day as nine qualified bidders made 77 bids. The good news is the charity benefits the San Francisco charity "Glide " which helps the poor.[I would hope so} Glad to know how some of those left in the pockets $ are used, Thank you President Bush. ;D

Imagine what the tip would be for the waitstaff on that lunch tab. When the very wealthy spend money they are buying high end merchandise that is made by craftsmen(usually unionized), such as yachts.
One point, there is no "e" in Manhattan.

The real question is how will letting these tax cuts and other provisions in the legislation expire, will help the country's economic situation.

If these tax cuts are left to expire, all the people in the low income brackets there were removed from the tax rolls will now be paying taxes.

Here's a few more things those who were really affected by the Bush Tax cut extension used their found $ when they reached in their pockets and found them all with a "WOW..look at this " type or similar remark by the way as their reaction to the $ found there that they weren't sure would still be there before Obama signed off on them. [From the Huff by the way but still feel they are authentic thoughts posted and said by those affected,] "DAILY DELANEY DOWNER - What did millionaires do with their Bush tax cuts? "I probably traveled a little bit more than I otherwise would have," said Frank Patitucci, CEO of NuCompass Mobility Services, a company that offers relocation management services. "I got a bigger boat than I used to have," said Dennis Mehiel, the founder and chairman of cardboard box manufacturer U.S. Corrugated, Inc. He lamented that the construction of his 150-foot sloop didn't create any jobs for American workers. "The problem is, it was built in Italy." Dal LaMagna, founder of Tweezerman, said he used his extra money to help the local economy by adding stuff to his house in the Pacific Northwest. "I just started creating jobs myself. I built a dance floor in my house -- which I really didn't need," LaMagna said, adding that he also put in a parking lot. "I just became a Dal LaMagna economic stimulus package in Poulsbo, Washington."
