Ladies, I have a question. Carl, close your eyes! Have any of you ever had a yoni steam? If so, at home or at a spa? And what do you think it did for you, if anything? I don't know anyone IRL that's had one, not that it's something I'd ask just anybody lol. But we're all friends, here, right? So I'm asking my internet friends.

I've never had one and I don't think I'd pay for one, but if you're curious why don't you do a DIY and check it out? Like, pour some hot water in a bowl and steam away! Then if you like it, try the upgrade version.

I guess my real question was whether anyone has found it to be irritating or some other negative thing. Besides the obvious of the water potentially being too hot and too close.

I had to Google it. I wouldn't pay for one. I'd either giggle thru it or rolling my eyes. Some things I can't do in public and that is now added to my list.
I can't see it doing any harm since it's just scented steam and not going in your vagina.
Apparently Amazon sells yoni packets if you want to DIY. I'd try that then if you do have a reaction at least it's at home and didn't cost you a lot. If it goes well you can try a professional one.

I take hot showers, I think that is enough steam. Like really hot showers.
Besides that I am keeping my mouth shut. I have a feeling that E is shooting himself in the foot about a matter, or is going too but in the end it will be a good life lesson, and he is so set in doing it his way, and that things should happen his way that anything I say is just going to be me against him. So I am listening and not offering advice unless directly asked.

The vagina is like a self-cleaning oven and regulates its pH and healthy bacteria pretty well on its own. One completely unrelated but not completely mainstream thing that I am obsessed with is flotation therapy. Everyone needs to do that!

I remember reading an article telling women not to put wasp nest up in that area. I was like why does that need to be said.

That would traumatized me. I don't do well being confined in small spaces and don't tell anybody, but I'm kind of afraid of the dark. I'm one of those weirdos that can't seem to float anyway. Issa no for me.

I do keep low lights on in the float room, and the place I go to has a step in stall as opposed to a pod. That is too enclosed for my liking!

I pretty much stopped at light proof, sound proof pod, thinking that was the only way it's done. Your description sounds a bit more appealing. I'm glad to know I'm not the only grown woman that's afraid of the dark. Thanks for that!

I don't get the yoni steam. Vulvas don't have sweat glands, and I thought that the point of steaming or using a sauna was largely to get hot enough to sweat. Maybe it's just to get circulation going? Though I can think of another way, with a Bob if you want to be alone.

Be my valen-slime was a bust. The consistency got better and might be ok by now, but last night we were practically up to our elbows in a mess I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. So candy valentines it is.
I should have stuck with my first thought to do the melted crayons again-I even have crayon shaped molds now. So I can make our own multi colored crayons that are easy to color with! Definitely should have done that.

I wouldn't mind trying out a yoni steam but DEFINITELY in the privacy of my own home... ALONE. But like Cookies said, it's a pretty good self-cleaning system. I did learn some things I had apparently been doing wrong that once I stopped, "things" improved: -wear breathable, cotton underwear
-wear loose or no underwear at bedtime -don't use soap, just water (can use soap on the surrounding skin though)
The last one was a biggie for me and I was skeptical, but once I stopped using soap the scent decreased after only a few days.

Question, especially for allergy parents. We realized late that while the candy in our valentines for Doodle's 2yo class does not contain nuts, it was made on equipment that also processes nuts. The daycare is officially a nut-free zone. We still sent them in, but put a note in the bag with the valentines. The teachers have all the names of kids with allergies. Did we do enough, or should we have made a 10pm run to CVS for different valentines?

Made it home. I'm sort of working from home today. I had to take DH to the orthopedist this morning. They put a cast on it. He is not allowed to put weight on it which will be difficult to do. It will be a 6 week hopefully. He'll get a new cast in 3 weeks. Were you delayed getting home? So sorry about DH, but I'm glad you are home again. No delay except waiting for the gate at CID. We landed on time, but it was probably 10 minutes waiting for the plane leaving the gate to de-ice and get out of the way. The roads were crap, but I was home a little after 6.

Saw some pictures on television of the roads by the airport. Looked quite scary.

Did we do enough, or should we have made a 10pm run to CVS for different valentines? I don’t have kids with allergies, but I wouldn’t sweat it. I’d probably do something different next year, but it’s a 2yo class - the kids generally don’t get to eat it in class, and the parents can go through and pull out anything they don’t want their kids to have. Honestly, if my 2yo comes home with candy today, it’s disappearing and she won’t get it, but that’s my parenting take. She’s getting cookies at daycare at their party, and will likely get cookie cake at home, so candy will disappear. I assume other parents will do what they want with what their kids bring home, including inspecting it if their kids have allergies or other sensitivities and removing anything the kid can’t have.

What happened to doing keigels to tighten your vagina? Good grief I bet the next step after putting "oak galls" up there is to flush with "green" water so you can populate your vagina with the bacteria God intended it to have.

That's my doctor and I can totally hear her saying that and the look on her face! I'm kinda sad that I likely won't remember this next time I see her to ask her if I should do it. ETA: Not sure if it was clear - my doctor is one of the two quoted in the article. Though we get along well, so her response if I asked probably would include some cursing. lol

Remember the poster who told us her chiropractor and dog's vet to her to never vaccinate? Be careful because anti-science medical professionals are out there and instead of messing with them they may AGREE with you.

One of her kids is autistic, and she blames it on the father's old sperm, not the vaccines, lol.

There is one at the Quick Care Clinic at Hy-Vee that is anti-something. I forgot what it is which is probably a good thing because I remember getting really mad when DH told me. So using that clinic is out because if I recall what it is or she says something I won't be able to keep my mouth shut.

It doesn't help the cause against anti-vaxxers here that all three of them are freakishly amazing cross country runners. Like Olympic level world record setting starting at age 12 amazing. There's a lot of "look how healthy and awesome his kids are".
