What I had done to speed along my miscarriage is working. My HCG levels at 8.5 week appointment were 46K. With yesterday's blood test, they are now just over 300. She wants me to repeat the blood test in 3 weeks to make sure it's 0 then. I don't want to like your post but that's good news. No problem. I understand. 🙂 I'm happy to hear it went down significantly and I don't need a D&C. It sucked getting the $2,500 in bills afterwards. I'd rather pay $10 in medicine since it happened...

Donovan had a slight fever this morning, so I gave him ibuprofen and sent him to daycare. Other than that he seemed fine. I am half anticipating a call to come get him, probably after nap time. I feel awful, but I needed to go to work and my mom has Roggie and can't handle both for too long. Where do I submit my application for Mother of the Year?

if you figure it out, nuttin, let me know I am certainly not in line for any awards here. Totally forgot about Aly's "homework" until 7am this morning. She was crying running for the bus because she didn't quite get it finished But at least she had both shoes on

I'm hoping M will do hers in aftercare so I don't have to worry about it.

How much do your school lunches cost? M's school just added a lunch program this year (private school) and it is major sticker shock. We were hoping to skip packing lunches a couple days a week but I don't think we'll be buying macaroni and cheese and half a banana for $5. 🙄

I think it's $2.40. It's free for elementary and middle school students though. Mine is in high school so no freebies for me.

Our lunches are $2.20 or $2.40. Depends on if the do the premium, whatever that is. Snacks are $.50.

Come to think of it, lunches were around $2.50 when I was in school too. They haven't gone up much

So Thing 1 is gone and Thing 2 is in high school. She's a senior this year. I was thinking about downsizing and getting a cheap apartment. I found one that seems pretty perfect but there's one problem. Jackson. They allow pets up to 60 pounds and Jackson weighs 80. So you guys know if there are exceptions made usually? I called and left a message. Thing 2 said she'd be cool with it and it would save me around $1,000/month. I could never rehome him. I love him.

Get these! I wish Gwen had worn jazz shoes. No matter how many knots I put in the stupid strings her ballet shoes would always end up coming untied and since she couldn't tie them herself it'd be up to me to wrestle the blasted things.

$5 does seem high for lunch, but private schools may not receive the same subsidies as public schools. I hope everyone who is ill as well as their sick children feels better soon.

They could require vet certification of weight. We need to show documentation of vaccination for our pets.

We only had cats when we were renting, so I am unfamiliar with how it works for dogs

You're at the mercy of the landlord every year when they redo the lease. Could you just downsize to less house?

High school is $3.65, but that one is totally worth it because DS eats a ton and he says their lunches fill him up, so they must give them quite a bit.

It's very old and needs a bunch of work done and the utilities are insane because it needs new doors and windows. I was going to just walk away from it because I could never sell it as is. I'll have to rent for a few years until my credit bounces back. I may be able to find one on a contract for deed, but that makes me more nervous than renting.

Ballet shoes slip on but they have elastic ties that you tighten around the foot and ensure a proper fit. Like all shoes as they conform to your feet they will start to relax and change shape. Puling the strings tight to hug the foot ensures the shoes continue to fit as designed I asked when Gwen managed to completely remove the elastic and I had to have the teacher put them back together.

Yeah, it must be the lack of subsidies. They did get a full kitchen through a grant or donation, so they aren't having to pay for that. It's a pretty low-cost school overall, not the type to just milk it because they can. I figured the menu would be about what it is, which I would be okay with occasionally for ~$3. When I heard it was $5, i got hopeful that maybe the offerings would be a little better. Nope.

Shows how much I know. I thought ballet slippers were just slip on with no ties. The ties around the outside do a little bit, but not much if they fit well. Kids often wear ballet shoes that are too large, making them more important. My studio had us sew an elastic that went sort of around the ankle. Some do criss-cross elastics over the top of the foot. Those are what really hold it on the foot. If the little ties always come undone, I'd just put a stitch or 2 in there to keep it tied.

You could make him a therapy dog I can't be "that person". I found another one that has no weight limit. It's about $500/month more. So it would cut my $1,000/month savings in half, but it's in a way better neighborhood so my car insurance would go down. It's also close enough to both jobs that I could go home and let the pups out for lunch. I wouldn't have the commute from hell anymore. I also wouldn't "need" the PT job anymore, but I'd keep it for a while and stash a bunch of cash for a rainy day which I've never really been able to do because I've always been broke between the house and the kids. Once I have sufficient reserves and some other debt paid off, I could quit the 2nd job.

I swear we're twins, andi9899. I've been seriously thinking of down sizing too. For all of the exact reasons you stated. DD is hardly home, DS is a Sophomore this year, the house is falling apart and I don't want to put that much money into it. I've looked at rents, which would be more than my mortgage, but I want a place that I don't have to worry about repairs, lawn care, etc. The problem is I don't believe DD will be able to take both dogs, plus they're pits and weigh about 50 lbs each. I don't think I would have too much of a problem selling it since the neighborhood is being bought up by investors, then either flipping them or renting them out. The house across the street was bought and redone and it really is not worth the $1,000 a month rent that they are requesting, but it is rented.

I've seen pictures of them, but not in person. They actually look pretty delicious and are healthy. Lots of whole grains and fruits and veggies. They do have the option for free and reduced meals so I think that means they are part of whatever government program helps with that.
