So I'm not sure what to do with Jocelyn. She has puked 3 days out of the last 9 days. On the 11th, she puked about 10 times in 3 hours. She napped and woke up her old self, we gave her some applesauce and she threw it up, but then was fine the rest of the day.
At 1:30 am on 8/16, she threw up several times in about an hour and a half and then was fine.
Then yesterday afternoon she started complaining her stomach hurt and then threw up once. It was a little after 6 when that happened and afterwards fell asleep for the night. This morning she was fine.
We had a check up on 8/17 and the doctor was intrigued by the situation, but overly concerned.
Funny story about last night's puking, DH was with her and asked her if she got any puke on her and she checked her clothes and said no. Then she looked at her hands and freaked out. She started crying "oh it's on my hands. Daddy get it off my hands" and then wiped them all over her dad's shirt!

Oh no, muttley!! Does she have any allergies? That would be the first thing I would check out. I bet your DH just loved being used as her hand towel

And C is complaining of a bad headache now. I gave him Tylenol and we're doing cold compresses and water.

We're having similar (although not as frequent) vomiting issues with E. She'll say her stomach hurts, throw up and then she's usually fine. I can't pin it to any food. It happened a couple times while we were camping, but she could still hike back the half mile to our site after covering her and I in nutella yak, took a nap, threw up again but then was fine. We're going to talk to the doctor tomorrow at her physical. When C was having stomach aches around the same age we cut out a bunch of foods, and then added them back in. They did an ultrasound that came back fine. Ultimately he was fine and we added everything back in and he just grew out of the stomach aches.
Having a barfer though scares me. Not only do I really not like vomit, we end up cancelling a lot of things for it. Even when I know she's fine, I can't expose her to the baby nephew, or the pool, or really old people. I can't imagine how we'll deal with school.

I'm grateful I'm not dealing with vomit this time round.
I swear it feels like the kids are conspiring so we DON'T buy a trailer/camper. That was the plan for Saturday. So we thought we'd try tonight. Sigh.
I will say that Caleb is very good at recognizing when he's going to vomit and warning us.

Eventually I pinned it to eating too soon after non-stop outside play. I think the mix of over exertion, heat, eating too fast etc. So I made a rule of no milk when "exercising" and made it a point to have him eat very small amounts slowly. That seemed to work, or maybe I just got lucky. To this day, he will only drink water at dinner if he's come from outside (his choice).

Beth, if C has it as well maybe it's not migraines? There was a particular cold going around a few years ago that caused ridiculously painful sinus pressure. When I had it I thought it was just another migraine, but DH and our housemate reported the same symptoms. Either way, I hope it passes soon. muttley: I think kids' stomachs can just get thrown out of whack sometimes and take a while to settle down. DS had a span of about six weeks when he was not quite two (I know, much younger than yours) where it seemed like it took almost nothing to make him throw up. Talk to your doctor of course, but you might see what he/she says about probiotics? (We also figured out the hard way that ez mac made DS throw up, but the stove top stuff was fine. ) Hugs taz. Insert grumbling about ridiculous likely-male medical terminology professionals here.

My brother could vomit on cue by repeating over and over he was sick.
After missing multiple days my parents started sending him to school unless he had a fever.
He couldn't figure out how to give himself one of those.😆

Caleb started puking a few minutes ago.
Yeah, this can't be migraines. I can buy one kid having a migraine but not two, esp within 48 hours of each other.
I've had a low level headache for a couple of days now but I assumed it was stress. My gut is not real happy withat me but thatight br stress and clearing up after C.
I made plans to do Noah's Ark on Tuesday with the kids and some other family. I don't think C will be recovered enough to go.

@wisconsin beth - not sure if they warned you about the Zofran but it causes constipation really quickly at least in my experience with using it. And there is nothing worse than feeling nauseous and also bloated and constipated.

And there is nothing worse than feeling nauseous and also bloated and constipated. Walgreens wasn't able to fill it. I tried this morning. It's not in the formulary list. And there's no generic. So I got an otc one which he kept down for about 30 minutes. Dh is staying home with him whole I do the Dells. I'm having one of the other kids drive so I can nap. And poor C is really unhappy about not going.

Does anyone here have boys in dance class? Eli really wants to go again (he was in one last year), so I signed him up, but he's in the older group now where they actually care what they wear. Last year he could just wear shorts and go barefoot. This year he has to have leggings and ballet slippers. Well, I found what I think to be good leggings, but is there such a thing as BOYS ballet slippers? Everything I find on Amazon is for girls. Do the boys just wear the girls ones? I'm assuming there isn't really much of a difference, but I don't know.

Zofran has done wonders for me, but not much if I had the flu. It has never made me constipated.
Got lots of Zofran when I was in the hospital over the winter.
Sorry C doesn't get to go to the Dells.

The boy in Gwen's class wore regular ballet shoes as far as I could tell but his were black instead of pink.

We have been fighting a stomach bug since last Wednesday here. Kids had it, then gave it to DH and I. I fought it off rather quickly, but as per the usual, DH is still moping about complaining about his stomach.
Harper is the only one who puked - just Friday night.

I've had generic Zofran before and all of my prescriptions are filled at Walgreens. Maybe there's no generic for the pediatric version?

I've had generic Zofran before and all of my prescriptions are filled at Walgreens. Maybe there's no generic for the pediatric version? Ondasteron. "The active ingredient of Zofran, ondansetron, is available as a generic drug. Ondansetron is prescribed to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by surgery or cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy or radiation. Your doctor may prescribe it for other causes of nausea as well." The last time I got a paper prescription filled, there was a box to check asking whether it was okay to substitute a generic version. Could that be the problem?

Thanks for all the sympathy on Jocelyn. She has seasonal allergies and based on the timing of the first 2 times she puked (woke up puking first thing in the morning and middle of the night), combined with what she was puking (all liquid) i thought maybe excess snot was settling in her stomach and upsetting her stomach, but who knows.
Because of the timing, I can't pinpoint any foods.

The boy in Gwen's class wore regular ballet shoes as far as I could tell but his were black instead of pink. This is what they have in the dress code. Dance Technique for Boys: White T-shirt, black leggings, tights, or shorts (dance belt required for teen and adult male dancers) and black or white jazz shoes or ballet slippers. I think I'm just going to stop down there today and talk to someone in person. They REALLY want to recruit boys so they should help me out. The regular dance classes run $100-$200, but the boys class is $22. It covers ballet, modern, hip hop, jazz...

C was in a dance class when he was 3 and toddler ballet slippers were the same for boys and girls. I'm guessing that's the same as they get older since it should really be about fit/size, but my knowledge of dance is pretty much limited to that one class.

What I had done to speed along my miscarriage is working. My HCG levels at 8.5 week appointment were 46K. With yesterday's blood test, they are now just over 300. She wants me to repeat the blood test in 3 weeks to make sure it's 0 then.

Kinda hard to learn when none of your shoes have laces on them! Jazz shoes are a little harder to tie, and keep tied, though. There might be some available these days with elastic on them, but ballet shoes will definitely have elastic. Definitely talk to them to find out how specifically they want you to sew the elastic on, and they can probably help you get a good fit for him. (Oh, and go with black.)
