Congrats! I also want to second having the baby shower early. My son was born 3-1/2 weeks early, and he got to go to his own baby shower (which oddly ended up being the same day we were released from the hospital).
The only thing we really had to scramble for was a car seat to bring him home in, since everything else was bought or waiting for us at the shower.

Congrats on your nephew My niece was born 6 weeks early and they had to scramble big time- my mom went out that day and bought diapers, car-seat, crib, clothes, blankets etc. My brother is not a planner. He is the type of guy that hopes someplace is open on Christmas Day so he can buy a gift card on the way to Christmas dinner. He has also been known to just hand out cash out of his wallet as a present for his nieces and nephews for Christmas. Hopefully this will be a wake up call and they will get an EF going and learn to plan ahead Fingers crossed that they aren't calling up in 5 years saying "Kindergarten starts tomorrow and we need to buy school clothes and school supplies".

Anyway we taled about it again last nigth and decided if all goes according to plan (no credit card debt, nice EF), we would start trying for a baby at the end of next year.
Ooh, congratulations! How exciting!
The baby is lovely.
