I know that the Porter Stansberry research institute is end of the world stuff, but is the Dan Ferris monthly newsletter The 12% Investment Newsletter any good ? Has anyone tried it and found it useful ?

Well, they have to scare the sh** out of people to sell it, so my guess is...no.

I'm interested in that product (they have a vast line-up as usual with these places) , but definitely want to find out if anyone has actually seen a copy of it and/or used it. Just curious. I am willing to pick up ideas anywhere, even if they come from an end-of-the-world investing firm. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't really following you....

Try to find a subscriber and ask for a pass-along issue. There are a lot of these whiz-bang investment advice newsletters out there. My humble opinion is that if these hotshots knew what they were doing, they'd be doing it. Instead, my guess is that they make the majority of their money selling newsletters.
