When DD is grounded and wants to use her computer, that's the only site I let her visit. I think she's single handedly fed a village. Her school also uses that website for vocabulary. It's one of the best uses of technology I've seen from that school.

I never heard of this before. I just did it and also bookmarked it to do regularly. Got my 50 grains in vocabulary for today. I can also handle several (4-6) more categories. Going to register & try a few more of those.

its a rather addictive little game:D
I love the fact that I'm helping someone out, AND learning new words in a language that is not my mine:)

The site was in a sidebar in the Parade magazine in Sunday's newspaper. I heard about it a few years ago, couldn't find the site and then forgot about it.
I thought it was fun and provides for others. I got somewhere around 2500 grains yesterday and I don't remember what level. I think I'll post it in games since most of the gamers don't come here.
When I went to be last night, I was wondering how may grains of rice really are in a bowl.

This is one of my favorite "bored" sites. It's also good to do while watching TV.

I actaully got up to 120 grains on Tue but ran out of time to play. Today I did over 500 grains.
Artemis: I would suggest you post this over in Women in Red and Your money. Many members would be glad to help in their spare time, especially since it is NOTHING out of pocket but still a food donation.

I allowed myself 15 minutes to 'play' today. I hit several more subjects. English grammar is SUPER easy. Chemistry is easy, at least for me, as it was my college minor and I used ALL my working days. World geography is a problem since the map COVERS 3 of 5 possible answers. Got 500 more grains.
I hope the Grocery challenge group picks this up because: many are pretty thread loyal they are already into conating on the cheap/freap we could have a VERY active group

Artemis, thanks for the reminder! I had heard of this site some time back and forgot about it but it's on my favorites list now! What a great way to help others--and all it takes is a bit of your time while you are already on your computer!!

One of the MODs locked the Pur water site on the top so we would remember. I hope someone does that with the rice.
