Course, I pay this card off every month as it's just regular monthly expenses like XM radio, XBox Live, toll tag, but still 1%. Wowee. The letter says it's not temporary, but permanent.
But what's the bigger picture here? What's going on?

Nothing is permanent when it comes to credit cards. Maybe they are trying to lure you into carrying a balance and being able to collect something from you? My Citi card is somewhere between 24%-29% these days, I think. But the rewards are good and I don't carry a balance, so what I care. I guess they aren't trying to lure me into carrying a balance. They have probably figured out after 14 years, they will never get me to carry a balance.

I think the CC are getting back into business now with the 0% BT and all coming back.

Interesting. My Cap One is still at 17% or so. Moot point since I pay it off in full each month.

I got a postcard yesterday that CapOne was lowering my interest rate BY 1% which didn't make me all that excited since I think it is at 20% or something. I thought maybe I misread it after I saw this but, not so much . I never carry a balance so it doesn't really matter and I only use it for a small recurring payment but oh well.

Maybe you should only pay the minimum and invest the rest like Phil is always encouraging others to do.
