I forgot ... this morning I also went to the recycling bin, and to the bottle bank. Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for lunch, WFH in the afternoon, then receptioning the items from my ex's storage unit. And catching up on OUR laundry, we're behind. I am REALLY hoping DS1 can move the Stuff to their new place in May rather than August!!! He's also taking the desk for DD. TheOtherMe it made me think of you and your DN's Stuff! So happy you're getting towards the end of the work now!

I have had to go to the basement several times in the last couple of weeks with the work that is happening now. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see only a love seat and coffee table in the area. They were in the room with the sump pump and I asked DN3 to put them in the larger area so the cats had something soft to sleep on. From the cat hair, it appears they use the love seat.
But that is all of the furniture in that area. I am also very happy that I didn't put the carpet back in all of those years ago. I don't use that area so that won't happen until it's time to sell the house.
I was hoping to get the other room cleaned out this summer. That will not be happening after this huge $$$ repair.

In the end I did two loads of our laundry too, so 7 loads today. All caught up now except for DS1/DDIL's bed, and the two grandkids' beds. I may leave those until I know if they're coming back in May or not. FYI the cleaner changes our bedding too. I may ask her to do another double bed, but not more than that. So I do the lion's share when kids/guests stay over. Have a wonderful trip moneysquirrel ! PS No more guests besides our kids until DH's cousins arrive in late July/early Aug.

Still at it with plenty of breaks*. I think that my idea yesterday to use the luggage cart (you know one of those those dinky things we used before suitcases had wheels) to move heavier items might be one of the best ideas I've had in a very long time. My back is somewhat tender but nothing like the crippling pain these activities would have caused me without. A few more spurts today and then tomorrow and Tuesday. I think I'll get it done I think I can, I think I can, I think I can... choo choo * I also managed to put in a run to a Goodwill and TJs around noon

Thanks for the idea, mathsplosion. A cart is a great solution for those additional supplies needed (yes, they're part of the SOP for dialysis.) When the time comes I'll get one of those, too.

From walking around the house this morning, I am thinking I will be decluttering a lot of money today.
It is great timing because it is to start raining tonight and rain through Thursday. The rain will be great for grass seed.

Have you seen one of those "hoarder" episodes on tv? You know where they only have a small path through the house and the rest is stacked wall to wall up to the ceiling? Well, I can guarantee you that won't be me. This morning I almost fled my bedroom because all the stuff in it (and it is far, far less than the hoarders thing) almost caused me an anxiety attack! More will go in there today though most remaining stuff will go to the guest room.
Good thing, while I have not done a real first passthrough I have thrown out quite a few things and then there was yesterdays Goodwill run. All things I won't have to put back. Did I mention my cleaning lady comes next Monday? So the time pressure to put most things back in place is almost just as great...

You're doing great NastyWoman ! The movers came while I was on Zoom, so DH dealt with them. The 4 items of furniture are in DS2's room (the downstairs bedroom). When I finished the Zoom I asked DH to help me rearrange things so DS2 can access his bed if he comes. In the end I redid DS1/DDIL's bed. I also washed the kids' bedding but will have the cleaner redo their beds when she comes.

The facility where she is now living had to go in and tell her she can not have paths with stuff stacked around. Everything needs a place. That is part of her problem. They won't allow her to hoard because it is not safe.

I had all 3 bedrooms recarpeted at the same time so we stacked everything in the living room. It was piled high. Two little boys came to the door selling something and they were looking past me and got these really big eyes and were looking at each other. Mom was standing back and told them, remember we don't look into peoples houses. I didn't say anything and just let them think that had seen a really bad hoarders house.

The waterproofing job is done and my money is officially decluttered.
He wanted the seed down by the time it's rain. I am to call him if I hear the sump pump because he says it should not run.
I have weird neighbors in the duplex downstream. The son of the owner wants a job. After watching what he did in their back yard, it is not going to happen. The woman in the rental next to me snuck out and took a picture of the contractor. That is just weird. He said hi to her and she walked back in to her house.
That's the way she has always treated me, too. The only time she was nice to me was when kids were sledding in to my house after my gallbladder surgery and it was all I could do to walk outside. She asked me if I was okay and I said no. She said to go back in the house and she would take care of the kids and she did.
Contractor took the bushes out for my good neighbor for free. He said he told him how happy he is that I did this. He got some benefit from it also because of the shared foundation in the front.
He also won't need to mow for a while as I have very little grass at the moment.

I got back home late last week. It's wonderful to sleep in my own bed, and my little dog is so happy to have the fenced yard to run in.
The kitchen looks great! I'm very happy with my choices. I spent Friday evening, Saturday, and part of Sunday moving everything into place*, shopping for grocery essentials and drawer organizers, and going through piles of mail.
Sunday was tax day. I resolved my issue with the taxes I thought were due, and filed electronically. Did the state return electronically as well, $0 owed. I felt smug getting it done a day before the deadline. Then I remembered I needed to pay estimated tax for Q1 2024. So I had to make a run to the post office this afternoon.
My flooring is supposed to be done sometime soon. I thought they were going to deliver the flooring today to let it acclimate, but they didn't -- and didn't return my phone call. So tomorrow I'll stop by their showroom and talk to them in person. I'm not worried at this point. I'm steeling myself for the upheaval. The whole house (except bathrooms) is being done. But at least I have empty boxes and closet shelves, that recently held kitchen items, to put stuff in. ETA: The installers showed up this morning. They are in the process of demo.
I have another trip at the end of the month, and yet another trip to help out DD with the grandkids, next month.
In June, my main bathroom will be redone.
Is it too much to ask that after that I can spend some peaceful time in my house?
*I managed to get rid of some kitchen items through the Buy Nothing group. Hurray for that. I'm sure more items could have gone, but it's never really done, is it?

Just sharing a cute video of Lincoln destroying a tennis ball: imgur.com/gallery/xL9lnUTI’ve been trying to tire him out today because there’s a big storm coming tomorrow and every dachshund owner knows how they behave in the rain 😂 This week I volunteer at the food bank and then the next day at the coffee shop so he will also have practice staying home alone and chilling in the crate.

What a productive group you've been!
Over the weekend I finished all of my goals except for date night. Oh, well, there's always future weekends!
-4 loads laundry including sheets. -Attended the neighbor's birthday party and went on several ATV rides with them. -Wiped down the fridge interior. -Watered plants. -Finished and filed taxes, compiled documents into a folder, and filed them away into the file drawer. While there, I pulled 2016 documents in order to add them to the burn pile. -Refilled the onion powder (I buy Sam's Club in bulk and then transfer to a small bottle), ice trays, olive oil dispenser, Keurig, and bottled waters. -Finally emptied the black peppercorns from the broken mill and filled the one I received for Christmas. -Tossed a few items into the donation box.

I ordered 8 moving bags they are called. Was $29, they are rectangular and fairly heavy. All the fabric I have washed and had stacked on the cedar chest fit in them. I told hubs really liked them. They hold so much will be heavy but that's ok.
We are going to see if the step nieces will want some of the blankets, some MIL stitched . We are keeping a few and DIL and son have some already.
I am selling more canning jars. Loading books now, going to get rid of all the books I have read, there will be boxes of them. I'm keeping the ones I have not read yet. I'm getting rid of more clothing. More books to go, loaded some cookbooks today too. More fabric will go. Hubs is panicking over how much I have., I told him calm down, it will work out.
I'm ordering more boxes or bags for kitchen stuff and a lot of it will go too. He said I can't take my wringer washer, I am taking my washer if I have to drive down here and take a load up myself after we buy a house.
And Christmas decorations will go. 2 unfinished bedspreads. Another robot sweeper will be sold. We are taking a few racks and shelving units. We spent a lot of money buying a lot of those. Some to the kids, some will be sold.
So I have my work cut out for me.

It's a dumping ground after work and if I don't keep it addressed, by the time I am mid-prepping dinner and setting up plates to dish up, I am shoving things aside with frustration. First world problems, for sure.

I told my sister this morning, with the way everything is stacked up in the bedrooms and one bathroom, if there is an EQ right now I'll just throw a match into it and walk away. I am so tired and my back is killing me.

Yes, I am. I know we can't move all this, some of it I don't mind getting rid of. Some will really bother me. And some I just won't unless we can't get a decent sized house.

YES! I really like the knobs and they are a bit bigger and extend from the doors just a bit more which is nice. They feel really good when in my hand.

I took a few days off but was out weeding today for several hours. Spoke with several people also.
My deck box arrived and 1 couch box has arrived. I have a query ticket in just making sure there is not another box out there with more parts on the couch.
Yesterday I made cinnamon scones and took half of them over to the neighbors as a thank you.
Still working on my diamond art.
I am taking a shower and will probably have spaghetti for dinner.
Need to wash dishes afterwords. Probably by DW instead of hand.

snapdragon, I saw your knobs and decided I could use some new ones, too, to replace the small old ones. I got these with your inspiration: cabinet knobs. I think it will look very good.

Those are beautiful finnime . We bought similar ones in blue and white when we redid our bedroom in 2019. They're a bit small, so now I'm looking at bigger ones lol.

Please DON'T quote!DH lost his wallet today, with ALL his CCs and ID except for his passport. He got a new motorcycle jacket a month or so ago, but he hasn't worn it until today. Apparently some of the slits are air vents, not pockets. He thinks he put his wallet into one of those slits thinking it was a pocket, and it fell out. He did the same thing a few years ago with his phone, when he first wore another new jacket. DH cancelled all his cards, but didn't think to request new ones. We don't know if they issue new cards automatically or if he needs to call back. He also needs to file a police report. What a mess!!! I feel so badly for him, he's SO upset. I gave him my HH card (mine should still work) and the 30 euros HH cash I had. I'm at Job 2 all day tomorrow, otherwise I would have gone with DH out of solidarity. Never a dull moment!
