The current conspiracy theory is that Directed Energy Weapons were used to start the fires. The far-right-wing conspiracy theorists think it HIGHLY suspicious that NOT A SINGLE blade of grass on Barack Obama's property was burned in the fires. More rational people understand that there is more than 100 miles of Pacific Ocean water between the Maui fires and Obama's property on Oahu, and that wildfire embers are unlikely to traverse the distance.... But hey, why waste a conspiracy theory when it presents itself to you, right? Do they think that the Jewish Space Lasers are back in action? Why can't these idiots just keep their traps shut and wait for an investigation to be concluded.

The RW nuts can't tell the difference between the various islands, or they know people who go for this stuff are too silly to look? This explains why Obama's property keeps popping up as article choices even though I knew it wasn't on Maui.

I saw earlier that investors are already starting to approach people to buy their land that their house just burned down on. These people just jumped into the ocean to watch their houses burn down and you are asking if you can have the land?!

These people just jumped into the ocean to watch their houses burn down and you are asking if you can have the land?! I hope the governor stands his ground on this issue. Hawaii governor vows to block land grabs as fire-ravaged Maui rebuildsLAHAINA, Hawaii — Hawaii's governor vowed "to keep the land in local people's hands" when Maui rebuilds from a deadly wildfire that incinerated a historic island community, as local schools began reopening. Gov. Josh Green said Wednesday that he had instructed the state attorney general to work toward a moratorium on land transactions in Lahaina. He acknowledged the move will likely face legal challenges. "My intention from start to finish is to make sure that no one is victimized from a land grab," Green said at a news conference. "People are right now traumatized. Please do not approach them with an offer to buy their land. Do not approach their families saying they'll be much better off if they make a deal. Because we're not going to allow it." Rest of article here: Hawaii governor vows to block land grabs as fire-ravaged Maui rebuilds

Half of them don't even think they're on a planet as they're typically flat-earthers to boot. No surprise they wouldn't have a clue that Hawaii is multiple islands.
I've heard the ones about the wildfires are being deliberately set by democrats to make people believe in global warming too.

It's really pretty sad. The state has the wealthiest of the wealthy and poorest of the poor. So, unless insurance comes through, I'm sure a lot of them will sell. It's crazy expensive to build there and many make very little money.

Washington Post article. Will be behind a paywall for some. Readers can get the gist of the article and how it was so awful for families from the few paragraphs I will post. A couple prayed for their 14-year-old son, last seen at their Lahaina home. Then they found him.
There was no pattern to who died and no single path to safety amid the nation’s deadliest wildfire in more than a century LAHAINA, Hawaii — The black smoke from the fire billowed over the ocean as Luz Vargas and her husband, Andres Garcia, left the seaside condo they were cleaning and drove back to Lahaina to find Keyiro. School had been canceled at Lahainaluna High School due to bad weather, and the 14-year-old boy they considered a son was resting at home, his sophomore year starting the next day. High winds had knocked out the power early that morning, and the modest yellow house on Kaakepa Street was stifling in the late summer heat. Keyiro Fuentes was alone with his terrier, Dexter. His parents and 20-year-old brother were at work. An older relative who shared the hillside home with its view of palm trees and the ocean below had stepped out that afternoon, unaware anything would go terribly wrong. At around 4 p.m., as the couple tried to make their way home, traffic snarled in long lines as many in the remote town of 13,000 people fled. Garcia jumped out of their van and grabbed a bicycle to make his way through streets he had known for two decades since moving from Mexico City. Luz simply ran. It would be two full days until the Garcias could make it home. There, they said, they found Keyiro’s burned body in what remained of his bedroom, his arm around Dexter. Rest of article here: A couple prayed for their 14-year-old son, last seen at their Lahaina home. Then they found him.

I read that article too. I'm not sure if it was that article or another one that pointed out it would be hard to identify bodies as fire does not preserve bodies whole like water disasters often do. That identifying bodies may be problematic as some might be just shards of bone and teeth. There was a story that reminds of the end of this one. An older man was found across the backseat of his car trying to protect his three-year-old dog.

One last bump. I read around thirty telephone poles came down because of the wind and some of them started fires. One of them fell onto a tar roof of a gas station so that probably went badly especially with the winds. No Jewish space lasers required.
