I just saw a clip of Kari Lake already openly talking about corruption being the reason it's taking so long to count AZ. things are going to get ugly, I think.

As usual - a mixed bag. No solid results until Friday. The Good as of Wednesday 9:45 am: Kari Lake hasn’t won. She hasn’t lost, but she hasn’t won. Blake Masters is pretty far behind. That is looking good for Mark Kelly. Mark Finchem is pretty far behind. To me, this is one of the most important races in the country. Finchem said he wouldn’t certify any election he thought was suspect, even if he had no proof. He is the end of Democracy in a Cowboy Hat. For propositions: As of now, voter ID is losing, campaign finance disclosure is winning and in-state tuition for dreamers is ahead. Those are all blue positions. Also - there was a prop saying that the AZ legislature could change propositions that were passed by the people, and that is losing badly. Woo hoo! The Bad: Kari Lake is gaining, and day-of voting seems to be leading R. There was also some problem at a few polling locations and they are already crying foul. Two props are winning that I don’t like - one is that any future prop can only cover one single topic (so we can’t codify abortion and contraception in the same proposition). The other prop that is passing is that tax props need to pass by 60%. This is because they are defunding schools and we keep passing propositions to fund them. They have been stealing that money - but now they will just make it super hard to pass a new tax. And - of course - our state legislature is still heavy red. Still bad news - but it would be insane if it wasn’t true. i am pretty confident that Masters and Finchem will lose. my reasoning: the final tally is about 1-2% favorable to Democrats in most places. this means that races that were dead heats (like PA) are being fairly easily won by Democrats. races that Democrats were trailing (like Nevada and Georgia) are tossups. and races that Democrats were leading (like Kelly and Finchem) are going easily for Democrats. could i be wrong? SURE I COULD. but it is very doubtful. i think the Lake race will be very interesting, given the tilt. i can't possibly predict the outcome. but it is amusing to watch her stoke the outrage machine. she is a complete ass.

Kelly will win easily, as well as many measures that Democrats supported. she can blow her horn out there in the Grand Canyon. we will all sit back and laugh at her. at least i will.

Kinda brilliant that the Republicans running the election announced they would do 1 press conference per day, and no other updates would be released. That stomps down a lot of the craziness.

At 9:45 am they said 66% of the ballots were counted. They are now up to 70%. This is gonna take awhile. 🙄

i am noticing that the Masters/Kelly race has not even moved 0.1%. Kelly has had a steady 5% lead.

never mind, bills. it is probably just bullshit, considering the source. edit: i have been watching as Hobbs widens her lead. it was 0.2% this morning. it is larger* now. i don't have any idea whether it will continue, but i like the trend.

the lead continues to widen for DEMOCRATS as the vote trickles in: results.arizona.vote/#/featured/33/0Hobbs is now up 0.8% over Lake Kelly is now up 5.2% over Blake Fontes is now up 5% over Finchem Mayes is now up 0.4% over Hamadeh (sic) i am not at all convinced that Hobbs and Mayes will win. but i think that Kelly and Fontes will be pronounced winners in the next 24 hours (by the media).

The news said they will count no more than 70,000 per day, and they have almost 600k uncounted. Maybe the 70 is just Maricopa - which is 400k of the uncounted 600k statewide.
This is gonna take awhile.

Talking heads on TV this am speculating whether Kari, after working as a news reporter for twenty something years, in theory reporting the facts, suddenly doesn’t know what facts are or has just cynically decided to parrot the spiel that got Trump elected.
I don’t know much about her so I can’t guess.

I read your post about her previous job. I looked at her page on Wikipedia. I read: In March 2021, she announced her departure from KSAZ, ... In June 2021, she announced her campaign for governor. I posted. You indicated "nope" based on your memory. My question was should I rely on my research or your memory.
