abc7ny.com/4-year-old-punched-times-square-suspect-arrested-child-injured/11580605/TIMES SQUARE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A man messed with the wrong family who was enjoying an afternoon stroll in Times Square. The moment this mother found out her son was punched in the head, she went after the guy.
Rafaela Rivera showed us the bruises on her arms after taking down the man who she says randomly punched her son angel.
"I was ticked off. I was outraged," she said.
She was with the 4-year-old and her daughter, Carmen, on Thursday afternoon in times square.
"He just got done doing a photoshoot for a modelling agency," she explained.
When the trio decided to enjoy a beautiful day in the city, that's when on 7th and 46th, Carmen noticed the odd man.
"He was moving weird, like really close to people," Carmen said.
The moment that guy got close.
"I heard a smack like somebody got hit in the head with a bottle," Rafaela said.
More details in this slanted article. I don't understand why after all these assaults' he's still out at all to commit more of them. nypost.com/2022/02/19/nypd-arrest-babacar-mbaye-for-punching-4-year-old-kicking-cop/Mbaye — who was on supervised release in connection with other recent random attacks — was charged with felony assault, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest, according to police and prosecutors.
He has three open misdemeanors for “assaulting strangers” dating back to the summer, including two in the past month, one where he allegedly “pushed a stranger and punched her twice in the shoulder” and the other where he “punched a stranger in the head,” prosecutors said.
Sources said the suspect has a record dating back to 2009, with arrests including for assault, criminal possession of a weapon, DWI and menacing. He has 16 prior misdemeanor convictions, according to prosecutors.

When I saw how hard that child hit the ground, that was no accident. I hope his mom got in a few good licks. (Can you tell I'm a city girl?) Seriously, he shouldn't be turned loose on the public, since his record states he's done similar attacks before, but punching a small child, a stranger, hard is SO wrong.

Agreed. He should not be out in public. It doesn't necessarily have to be jail. Maybe confined to the family home indefinitely and the property via an ankle monitor or something.
The pandemic has made lot of the emotional folks take out their angst on others. Some are people like this. But assaults by customers are way up as well on retail staff, healthcare staff, etc. And then there are the "Karens" and "Kens" looking for free stuff or to make someone's day worse than theirs. They are out in force too. Making crap up to get workers fired or worse.
I wish sometimes we could put all the people like this on an Island with no one else except their kind. Maybe they could call it Survivor - the rise of the asshole
