Locally, I think that mine has to be Malone's. bluegrasshospitality.com/malonesIt's right around the corner from my place, they have incredible food and I can't remember a time where I've gotten something there that I did not like. TD adores the crabcake appetizer and their half a sushi appetizer platter has been my takeout dinner more than once. Their beef is awesome and they have the best prime rib in town. I'm taking the coworker that took care of my boys there tonight to thank him for catsitting for me. YUM!

I don't normally like chain restaurants, but I love Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. My favorite local places are Serritella's (Italian) and El Palmar (Mexican).

Damn!
Went to make a reservation and I could get a seating either at 4:30 or 9:30. We're going Monday instead.

There aren't any really good ones around here unfortunately.

I hope it's one I have not found yet. I review a lot of them, but I have a few favorites, which get five-star ratings in my column. They tend to be unusual places that challenge the average palate and mind: christopherskitchenfl.com/www.davidseastsidedeli.com/Basin Seafood (mostly a retail store, but a few outdoor tables), Port Salerno, FL Los Catrachos Honduran Restaurant, West Palm Beach, FL

It was Chuck E Cheese until I got too big to go on The Cheese Crawl. I told them to just grease me up with cheese and I'd fit, but they claimed some jibberish about health code violations. That was two years ago.

The best ever was a tiny place called Calypso's Caribbean Kitchen, but it no longer exists.
Saffron Grille Indan Restaurant (bottomless chai) Ruby River Steak House (we don't have one of these in Seattle, but it was our favorite in Reno)

I can't say what my favorite local place is, because then someone could use that to figure out where I live, but my favorite places in Philly are Tria, Valanni, and Horizons. Yum! Oh! And Taqueria Veracruzana!

I do indeed know the River House, MM. Still going strong, last I checked, though it has competition from a Seasons 52 across the river.

That was two years ago. Can I just tell you how much I hate Chuck E. Cheese now that I've grown up? Took DD2 there a few weeks ago for a bday party and it was dirty and half the games were broken. That and all of the bad ass kids running around there with no supervision. My mom used to take me there when I was 3 and get faded on white zin (yup classy, I know) and let me run amok. Well, now CC is dry, so no booze, and I wouldn't trust those creepy people in there to leave my DD alone. Rant over. My favorite restaurant is Oreganos. Mmmmm! I don't know if they have any out here in SD though.

There's this one five star place right around the corner from where I live, that I can walk to. The food is [limp wrist] TO DIE FOR [/limp wrist], but it's also really pricey and I'm cheap so I only take DF there on important dates like leap years and whenever England gets a new monarch.

I went to Morton's in White Plains a while ago. Amazing.
I also like Sign of the Mermaid on Anna Maria Island, and Santangelo's in Syracuse.

There's a small Italian restaurant near me called Amici (approx 20-25 tables max) that specializes in fine Italian cuisine. No pizza served in dining room - that's strictly take-out only. Their dishes are a large variety of pastas/sauces, veals, seafood and steak specialties. It's pricey so I don't get there too often but it's to die for. And they have a well-stocked wine cellar.

Ah yes. Italian restaurants. My favorite is Da Pin in Zurich. Incredible Northern Italian food. Raviolis in butter and herbs, outstanding veal. Yum. But, like many restaurants, I hear it is not as good as it used to be. Also the Sonnenberg in Zurich has outstanding Zurich Style Veal with either rossti or egg noodles. There was also a restaurant, high in the alps about 40 km from Zurich, where I used to get the best cheese fondue. Now I'm getting hungry just mentioning these places.

LaScala. They had the best stuffed rack of veal or veal oscar I've ever had. But they closed down when the owner got too old to run the place and his son didn't want to run it. The owner was an opera singer and he'd sing to you for your birthday and anniversary if you requested it. And the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was so romantic! DH and I had our reception there. I miss them.

A couple of the waiters at the Italian restaurant I mentioned do that too - and the chefs can sometimes be heard singing in Italian in the kitchen as they prepare the meals.

I just went to the River Cafe in Calgary. There were three of us at dinner and we were all groaning at how good our food was. Not cheap but worth every penny.

Hmm, doesn't ring a bell but then it's been a long time since I lived in Calgary.

There is an amazing Mexican place about a 2 minute walk up the street from me, SUCH GOOD food!! Chain-wise, I dunno. I'm really not that picky about my food, it has to be pretty terrible for me to dislike it. There's also an awesome Italian place about a 5 minute walk away. Jeez. Isn't that awful, I can't really name any restaurants I love?! We don't go out that much

I can post links to my favorite places because none of them are in the town I actually live in. In my actual town we have your normal fast food and a coney island. Crap food. But I LOVE www.theemory.com/ and I LOVE www.sakanasushilounge.com/. I also love to go to this place www.amicispizza.com/. The Living room side has an amazing martini bar! When I had my weekend get away we ate here and OMG was it amazing. www.thegreenwell.com/

If you are ever in Saratoga Springs, NY, you have to try Hattie's if you like fried chicken.
