Mitt Romney, in an interview with CNBC, declares his opinion on President Obama's birthplace and citizenship, as well as Donald Trump's recent statements on the same. there are more than a few issues where I take exception to Romney's actions, but I do commend him here. I wish more leaders would do the same. ETA: quote from Romney - "The citizenship test has been passed," Romney said tonight on CNBC's Kudlow Report. "I believe the president was born in the United States. There are real reasons to get this guy out of office...but his citizenship isn't the reason why."

dezi - it was quickly (and rather obnoxiously) pointed out to me how to bury a link within a post on this board. I was trying to avoid that, as I do in all the posts where I include a link buried in my post. it's not uncommon to find links buried under words of different colors in a post/article/thread/etc....

Ok, I see it, but usually the word is highlighted in a different color so people do not have to search all over the post. Who obnoxiously pointed this out to you? Surely, it was not someone of the Conservative persuasion?

SEE!! Romney is my guy-- Romney/Rubio 2012!! LOL! It even sounds good! If Romney is your choice and you believe he is a good man and truthful, will you now stop claiming President Obama was born in Kenya and is not a natural born citizen? If Romney accepts the fact Obama passed the natural born citizen test and was eligible to be president, can you?

It is a different color on my screen. I have black print but the link is in blue.

VB-what is your page's "skin" color? I use the 'MonochromePaleBlue". Easy on the eyes. Bland but easy.

You're not allowed to ask that. It's racial profiling...

Well, it was the skin color. I changed it to "default", and everything is there, but I am so used to my skin, and like the color, I think I will have to go back to it. Default is too boring, and harder on the eyes.

It's blue on my screen, too.
FYI-- most conservative talkers and politicians think Obama was born here. I have no idea. I've read so much crap by now, and it really does not matter what I think. Not like I plan to vote for him if he was born in Hawaii or Kenya, or which of his names he runs under.

I was trying to avoid that, as I do in all the posts where I include a link buried in my post. it's not uncommon to find links buried under words of different colors in a post/article/thread/etc.... No problem, I went looking, found it, but I prefer the link visible. When I post a link I'm hoping some are interested enough in the post to check it out, so a back and forth, opinions might arise from some, so to make it harder on them, to me, doesn't make sense. Don't know how to hide a link anyway , but not really interested in doing that so it's another piece of knowledge I can live with out. ;D"it was quickly (and rather obnoxiously)" Pointed out iI can see as being helpful, obnoxiously, no reason for that but it seems that "Obnoxious " is the way of things for some, they don't know any other way, think it's the 'rigor " of things.{It's not but who can tell them, right }

Dezi, Krickett gave it to us in reply #2 No biggie, but in # 2, no link for me . Just : "SEE!! Romney is my guy-- Romney/Rubio 2012!! LOL! It even sounds good! " As I said I would consider listening to Romney's pitch, but I see by his comments, he is also pandering , and I understand he has to to get the support, to the right, the tea, and that then turns me off. I am not blaming him for doing that, just as I didn't blame McCain for choosing Palin for his running mate, that was a political decision in my mind when he realized he was not going to get the support, they would not send the $ and so many would just sit out the election, from the religious right and ultra rights, but for those like me who are on the other side but am interested in some from the other side to see what they are all about, it's a turnoff. It's a fine line to run, keep your base and yet appeal to others who you normally won't get support from, and that is important in the final get around. Those birthers, they would never vote for a Dem and definitely not Obama, given a choice between him and say Kennedy, Ted, Bobby, they would vote for a Kennedy if they voted at all, but those on the middle, who ever wins, whichever party, they have to appeal to them too, and to much pandering to the normal supporters is a turn off as would be to little pandering to their normal supporters. Politics, such a game as none others.

I edited my OP to include the quote. people can click the CNBC to get the whole article.
pulling this back on topic, I absolutely respect the way he answered that question. the election should be about the issues, and not about whether the wingnuts that will never be satisfied still think Obama was born in Kenya.

My choice of skin doesn't show links in a different color, either. However, if you quickly run your cursor over the post, any link will be indicated by a line above and below it. If someone is talking about a news item, I usually do that to look for embedded links. Just takes a second.

Rubio would never run on the same ticket as Romney.
