Living alone I still have a big supply of TP and paper towels. I have 3 containers of Clorox wipes and a good supply of hand sanitizer. So far, so good.
I sat down last night and made a list of items for the pantry. I get my VA disability on the 1st, so I plan to take my list to Walmart and start another replenishment then. I don't want to get caught this time like last March when I was completely unprepared.

Agree with others that there are definitely supply chain issues, but still far from food shortages. I overheard stock clerks at my local store talking about lots of customer complaints about specific items.
I was at store to buy soy sauce and the shelves were empty. I was trying to figure out substitutes (teriyaki???) when I spotted a bottle of organic soy sauce on the back shelf).

I was able to get one large container of and off brank Clorox wipe at Walgreens Recently and I found a small container of Clorox Wipes at the Grocery Store last week. Both were limit 1. Since I have gone months without being able to buy Clorox Wipes, I have now decided I like the new Mr. Clean Disinfecting spray and a paper towel. I bought paper towels and TP for DH's office. I am limiting myself in what I store at home until I hopefully get control of the Mouse issue I have in my basement. We have not yet figured out where they are coming in. I can't find my favorite Lean Cuisine meals right now. I always liked the Chicken and Almonds. Hopefully they did not discontinue. They have a similar larger version now, but I also am having issues with my basement refrigerator leaking water, so I wanted the smaller ones. I guess I should pull the trigger on a new Refrigerator for my kitchen.

Hand sanitizer is still plentiful. The Target I shop at is still limiting certain items to 1 per customer, so I buy hand sanitizer every time I go in. I use it at work and I have a bottle in both vehicles I drive.
Toilet paper supply has gotten better, but still not back to “normal”. I buy it before I actually need it. We still have 2 large packages of Charmin and Cottenelle (not our preferred brands) in our garage that I bought when we had to buy whatever brand we could hunt down. I guess we’re keeping those for an emergency, if things go left again and we can’t find what we prefer.
Sometimes there are paper towels on the shelf, sometimes there are none. A couple weeks ago I was leaving the store with paper towels in my basket and a lady in the parking lot asked me if they had a lot inside. I told her they had a few, she should probably go to that aisle first if she wanted to make sure she got some.
I’ve not been buying groceries as often, and haven’t noticed anything missing in grocery stores. Our freezer is still full from prior grocery trips.
We’ve half heartedly been looking for a freezer for months. There were none to be found in the area, and none available online from the big box stores. It was only a couple weeks ago that we finally saw some available. This was at Home Depot, and they only had one size, one brand.

Northern Virginia -
Cleaning supplies are still scarce. Paper towels are at OK levels, but not TP (and not much variety). For the last few weeks, bleach has only been available in 30oz bottles. Dish liquid still low too. Forget any type of Lysol. I have had to order most items online.
We never had any meat shortages, and it looks like canned food is finally making a comeback. Except, oddly for pizza sauce. The kids like to make english muffin pizzas, and I had to order sauce online.
Ziploc bags & wraps have been low all summer.
It does seem like we have paying more for cleaning/paper goods.

Suburban St. Louis:
I'd venture a guess that we're 95% back to pre-Covid stock levels. I see sporadic shortages of specific items once in a while. I wanted to make green bean casserole a few weeks ago and couldn't buy a can of cut green beans at that time. But, that was a temporary shortage.
JMO - people are still stocking up, but they are not hording like March and April.

I would typically stock up of non-perishables in early November to get me thru to Feb/March - mostly because I have so many things on my calendar for November thru March weeknights/weekends that I don't want to have to think about having to shop (more than running into the local Aldi for a staple item) or have to 'think' about what to do if I run low on something during the 10 days of 'really bad weather' we get sometime between December and the end of February. I'm kind of doing a bit by bit stock up now - grabbing "limit 1" items whenever I see them and looking for things I would normally look for in November (maybe the stores will put stuff out early?). I reviewed how much I need to have on hand on all the stuff I stock up on by the end of November so hopefully I won't over buy/feel like I'm "hoarding".
In the past the two weeks/weekends before Thanksgiving always yielded the most coupons and best prices on alot of the stuff I would "stock up on". I'm not sure how the sales and what's offered in the stores when will play out this year... it's weird.

I went to our local grocery store this afternoon.....things were definitely missing from their shelves. Noticed the small Bush's baked beans weren't there, only the 2 larger sizes. Beef roasts and ground beef also seemed a little short. I managed to get an Arm & Hammer disinfective container, but there where only a couple more left.
I managed to get a couple cans of soup, some marinara sauce, and 3 jars of Pace Picante sauce. My order from QVC just came, it's bacon wrapped chicken stuffed with creme cheese & jalapeño peppers. Already in the freezer along with 2 beef roasts & 1 1/2# of 1 # 93% ground beef.
I ordered again from Amazon to get food saver (not that brand) they had one for sale that has a 100% rating . Should be here Saturday.
I vow I'm not going to get caught like I did last March, and there will be food and supplies in the house this time.

I was finally able to get a Nintendo switch at the noninflated regular price. Otherwise I seem to be able to find everything. Sometimes it isn't the brand or scent I would like, but something seems to be in stock.

I am a bit shocked to hear of these ongoing shortages. We (Vancouver, Canada) have not had shortages since the very beginning of covid and that was toilet paper, pasta, disinfectant and the like.

Food and cleaning supplies are back to normal. The usual TP, paper towels, hand sanitizers, yeast were in short supply earlier this year, but OK now.
Lawn care, flower window boxes, pool supplies, patio sets were scarce and now it's patio heaters...things to enjoy your home and yard.

there are a lot of deeper issues at play here that I never considered before the pandemic. for example, if certain commodities are supplied externally, and we get in a trade war, how do we meet the demand. it seems like there is a lot of JIT in the US, and that lends itself to widespread shortages of stuff that we don't make here in the US.

Patio heaters are in demand by every restaurant that's been doing outdoor dining, and wants to extend that as long as possible into the cooler weather. There was a local news story about one place that had set up lots of little greenhouses, each big enough for a bistro table set, and with a heater in each. Yeah, they were sitting outside, but doesn't closing yourself in a box negate the fresh air advantage?

One of DD's friends, who bakes a lot (like I do), noticed that it's getting difficult to find canned pumpkin. I went shopping today, and discovered she was right, as they were sold out at both Walmart & Target. So, to make sure I could make pumpkin pies for the holidays, kept hunting until I found some. I hate to pay full price, but I'd rather pay now, than go without.

TJs had pumpkin a couple of weeks ago. A lot. I bought a few cans as I bake all kinds of pumpkin goodies for friends. I don't care for it myself but I don't want to drop that tradition either

I had a good laugh this morning. Toilet paper is on sale (6 quad rolls for $4.50) so this woman loaded 2 carts with nothing but toilet paper. So funny!!! There isn't a shortage

you can prep pumpkins, too. it's not that difficult. You need to find and buy "baking pumpkins". Those can be tough to come by - and often times the small "baking pumpkins" at the chain grocery store are more decorative than tasty.
Canned pumpkin is constent in texture and flavor.

I hate to pay full price, but I'd rather pay now, than go without. When I went to Aldi's today - they had all the fall staples fully stocked. I bought a 'strip' of fast rising yeast, a couple cans of pumpkin (.85 ), some ground spices (I needed sage and all spice), chopped walnuts, and fresh baking powder. I'm making soup with the canned pumpkin. I don't know if I've ever used Aldi canned pumpkin before... so I only grabbed 2 cans. I generally hold out for the arrival of the cans of Libbey's Pumpkin purchased on sale and with a coupon (or two)... I'm not sure there's gonna be that much of a sale price this year - even with full shelves of the stuff. I'm totally seeing "inflation' in the grocery store prices. Well, outside of Aldi and TJ.

As for a "shortage" - I couldn't buy a "flat wire stacking shelf" in any size from the Container store. There weren't any to be had. I was organizing my pantry and I thought for sure this kind of a "staple" kitchen organizing thing would be available online for instore pickup . Nope. Not. A. One. In any store or any "warehouse". No "in stock" again date either. The 2 other things I wanted also aren't available - but did have "pick up in the store" dates of Mid November. ::sigh:: OK, maybe it was because the "shelf" thing was on sale - and they sold their quota of sale items. I will pay full price. I just want the dang shelf thing. Typically, the store would have the shelf thing I wanted in stock - there would be 30 or 40 of them stacked up in a display in the middle of the store. the same with the other things I wanted. I guess everyone is "organizing" their homes?
I'm using a cardboard box in the pantry in the meantime (as a "shelf").

Boxed.com had Chlorox wipes, Lysol disinfectants, and tons of paper products when I placed an order earlier. I don't use most of that stuff, but they had it.
I order some canned things from Boxes and use Amazon Pantry for other shelf-stable things I find there at or below the same price locally.

Colorado and I'm not running into too many shortages.
It took almost 2 months to find a refurbished xbox1 - obviously not a necessity. My mom said shes had a hard time finding pumpkin which used to be one of my staples but I haven't been making waffles so I hadnt noticed. We dont use much in the way of disposable cleaning supplies so thats been fine and the patio heaters were surprisingly well stocked.

For those who need wipes check Target. I've had the most luck there. You probably need to go in. I got a can a couple weeks ago. Last week I noticed that area was almost fully stocked. They had Chlorox and Target brand.
I also saw them at Aldi this week. Both stores had a limit of 1.
The latest thing I can't find is taco shells. Both my Walmarts were out according to the app. I got a box at Sam's Club. Not my preferred size configuration in packs of six but better than none. I need 10 for the tacos I make.

The spice section was wiped out when I went to look for garlic salt today. I can't tell you whether it is a supply and demand issue (i.e. we're cooking at home and the supply isn't keeping up) or a question of how labor is being allocated. Space in the back rooms of the supermarket is at a premium, so nobody works a cart of teeny-tiny spices that takes hours to work when the same amount of labor could be used to clear several carts of larger items.

I would say the stores around me are still experiencing missing items, particularly paper products. The shelves for paper plates and napkins are routinely sparse. I noticed the toilet paper/paper towel aisle looked fully stocked not so long ago and was surprised to see that there wasn't a single name brand product on the shelves, or even store brand. It was all weird generics you've never heard of before. You can get wipes around here now, but no brand names, like Clorox and Lysol, and the cleaning supply aisle is routinely sparse as well. I don't think I ever noticed any shortages in meat or produce, but canned goods seems to have filled back in. Frankly, the only things that really ever seem to be missing are the things I am looking for! Couldn't find the creamer we like in our coffee for months. Finally coming back. Same thing with the crackers I'm addicted to. They are the ONLY flavor that is always out of stock.

Last week and this week, Whole foods was limiting the number of tofus you could purchase.
we've been able to buy paper towels no problem for about 3-4 months, but our preferred brand, Bounty - very rare to see that stocked up. and nothing like before. Used to be a lot of sizes and was about 15-20 feet of shelves, now just one size and maky 5-8 feet of shelf space.

Just so you know, I stopped at the neared Office Depot/Office Max this weekend, and they had TONS of bottles of hand sanitizer. Just in case anyone here is having trouble finding any...

Frozen veggies are still limited in their assortment. If, like me, you don't like carrots that have been processed choices are bleak.
Paper goods have been available occasionally but there too I run into problems as you either have to buy a pack of 9 rolls or a pack of two humongous ones. This is not the easiest time to buy for one
Last weekend I saw for the first time since February clorox spray cleaner. There were 2 bottles availble. I snatched them both (no limit sign up) though I needed none. I texted an elderly friend to ask if she needed some and she asked for two, so they stayed in my cart and were delivered to her. I would have put them back otherwise...
one day things will be back to normal I hope.
