Pretty pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze? Nah, it'll never happen. He's too much of a media whore. He'll be back, complaining about how unfair the American political system is. Because after all, he's speshul, you know...

Wow, he even lies about himself! His ego couldn’t tolerate even 5 minutes of “disappearing”.

Biden's ads have to be the cheapest on the planet. All he has to pay for is media time, as Trump does such a nice job of making the ads for him. Biden needs no creative artists on the payroll, they couldn't give as good an ad as Trump does himself.

I have said that if the current President of the United States hasn't convinced you that Donald Trump is unfit to be president, nothing I can say will convince you.

Sadly, we will see him again here. Mar-A-Lago isn't far enough away, and he has golf courses nearby, as well as politically connected golfing buddies and the like in the area. I do wonder how many of them will want to be seen with that gasbag loser post-election, though. And those Trampettes, the wrinkled-hags-who-drink-their-lunch crowd -- I have a hard time figuring they will want to pay the fees his private club charges, just to breathe the vindictive air he exhales.

Don't let the door hit your ass when you leave. I am actually hoping a door does pound his posterior when he goes -- it means our state governor will have one less body ex-presidential body part to hold onto.

Let him go there and look out at the city he once occupied in opulent style. Heck, his buddy Ronny De of FLA could petition to get him moved to Starke. Closer to family and all that. At least, family that still might be speaking to him by then.

They are a bunch of designer handbag-clutching, Botoxed-bloated old babes with loaded husbands and nothing to do with their money. They go to charity galas, push rubber chicken around their plates at lunch-lady gatherings and pose for society page snaps, putting the best of their worst sides forward. I like getting the paper on the day the society section comes out during the season. You look at these pictures and think, "A black shower curtain from those immovable brows on down would be an improvement on that."

if he disappears, it will certainly make arresting him more difficult. I've often wondered if families of people who are murdered, and then the person accused of murder dies - is there a loss of closure? Is going through the trial helpful, or is knowing the guy was shot by police, or shot himself better? If Trump dies before a trial can prove his crimes, is it worse? Or is there peace in having it be done and over with and we never have to speak his name again?

I have taken to calling him Ron DeSantis. I think it suits him.

there is no closure when someone is killed. it is something you carry around with you forever. and it really doesn't matter if the person who does the killing is killed or not. there is no psychological benefit for the families of victims to have the murderer killed.

I don’t know if it would be completely done if he died - there will be ingoing legal actions with Trump Inc which is run by his kids. Various legal entities are looking into tax fraud and how much money got illegally funneled into their accounts via activities like the inauguration committee and that will continue after Trump dies. I’ve kind of accepted Trump will never actually do time. He’ll get Pence to pardon him for federal crimes and then he’ll get his lawyers to keep kicking the state crimes down the road. However, for Trump it will be a kind of death to go from being president with millions of people reading his every text to suddenly becoming just another citizen again. It will deflate him. Narcissists constantly need ever greater levels of attention.

Narcissists constantly need ever greater levels of attention. I agree that there is more funny business happening than he can take to the grave. I just don't think it will get the same daily (minutely?) press if it is his family and associates. It will definitely still be a story, but it won't completely consume the whole country. I also agree he won't do time. Pence will not be President. I don't think Trump will get removed from office unless there is something so earth shattering, you can move a significant number of voters. If he gets a second term, there is no such event. He could shoot someone on live TV and his people would cheer him on. The election will tell us how many people he has. Even if they can build a solid case and charge him for tax fraud or other financial crimes, he won't do time. Even if he loses in a huge landslide, I just don't see a former President going to jail. The only way he will be locked up is if he goes way further down the civil war route and they have to lock him up to cool the situation. I really hope that doesn't happen.

As a matter of presidential courtesy, after trump exits the White House and if he is convicted of a federal crime, the president currently in office, regardless of political party, should and will pardon trump.
Though trump would be totally unworthy of a pardon, a pardon would take place.
But a president cannot pardon a president or anyone else convicted in a state court. May New York have a field day trying trump in their courts.
