I'm not sure if this has been previously posted. All Americans have the right to free speech. And to protest Govt. Yesterdays protests in MI were very disturbing with gun touting people and no social distancing. It stinks for all of us. Taking a gun to protest is just wrong!!

I say let those guys attend their sporting events, their pancake breakfasts, their marvel action movies, their sports bars- let them all hang around together, leaning drunkenly on each other, laughing loudly in each other's faces.
The rest of us can keep our social distance, pick up our dinner at the take out window, wash our hands four or five or ten or eleven times a day.

Yeah, I found the protests with protesters carrying guns to be rather disturbing. There's 100% nothing about that that says "peaceful" protest. It's more like an open taunt.

What they are missing is that no one they know has been sick with it or has died from it. It's always easier to think "it isn't gonna happen here or to me" because it's those other people over there doing the wrong things or taking risks or ::enter whatever derogatory thing that you and your family are not:: and that's why they got sick and I and my family won't get sick. I think that's what they are missing.

The guns are just such a stupid addon to this. Why? What are they really thinking that proves?

U posted just what I was thinking and about to post..To me nothing beyond the fact that the one carrying that weapon is just a bit in need of help...wondering what carrying a long arm is supposed to prove.. just a embarrassment to himself, his family...definitely his kids.

If they would just leave the guns and the political stuff out of it I could at least respect their opinions, even as I disagree with them. by mashing it all up with what are divisive symbols in the first place they are further dividing this, and turning the debate into an us vs. them drama- which it absolutely should not be. Because of that I find them quite repugnant and anti-American frankly.

The rest of us can keep our social distance, pick up our dinner at the take out window, wash our hands four or five or ten or eleven times a day. Unfortunately, they will come in contact with some innocent, unsuspecting person and gets them sick. If that didn’t happen, I would agree Thats why the rest of us need to avoid exposure to these people. My BIL is flying across country to help his son drive his car and belongings back home, which will take about a week of driving. They'll be stopping at hotels and restaurants on the way back. BIL wanted to stop along the way at his daughter's house, to spend the night, but her husband, who works for a critical industry (nuclear power) said they can't come by. BIL and SIL are in the group of people who believed, initially, that CV19 was a hoax, and then switched to say isn't not a hoax, but that the economy is more important than some incidental people dying from CV19, so they've been ignoring the social distancing requirements and not taking any precautions, like extra hand washing. HIs daughter has three small kids, and her DH's company sent around guidance they want their employees to follow to avoid sick employees coming to the plant, and that includes now allowing people to come visit your house. (Especially, I would imagine, people on a week long road trip). BIL and SIL are pissed at their son in law, but he's doing what he has to do to protect his family and his company. This is what we need to do with friends and family who aren't taking this seriously. I wouldn't drive with someone who always drove 80 MPH. I wouldn't stay over at the house of someone who chain smoked or was a hoarder. Sure, you're free to live your own life and keep your house however you want to keep it, but I'm not going anywhere near you, and you can't come to my house, until there is an effective vaccine. The state I live in (Georgia) was one of the first states to 'reopen' and had a jump in cv cases (1000 a day) because of it. Since there's very little testing and no contact tracing, we'll continue this slow burn of cases, punctuated by sudden bursts, like the ones they're seeing around Gainesville, where the chicken plants are hot spots. All the Georgians who don't want this virus can do is stay in our homes as much as possible, avoiding contact with as many people as possible, and wait it out. It will be interesting to see what happens when we get to Thanksgiving, if we're still having the same problems, and DH and i and our son and DIL refuse to host/attend Dh's family group Thanksgiving. SIL will be pissed - too bad.

Bringing firearms to the governor's or state legislature's workplace is not a great way to start a conversation.
trump: "These are very good people, but they are angry."
No, trump, they are not "very good people."

No, trump, they are not "very good people." I thought most state houses were not open carry, no matter what the rest of the state is/was.

List of where firearms are allowed/not allowed in State Capitol / State House / State Offices about 1/3 of the page down in the linked article: Firearms Location Restrictions

No, trump, they are not "very good people." Well, look where the comment comes from, right? He himself is a lout, a cheat, a rapist and a con man. I would not enter into business contract with the man, as I have often stated in the past. He has a long history of stiffing subcontractors. I would not invite him into my home. As long as he is the President of the United States I suppose we would allow him into our home if he showed up, out of respect for the office. However Trump the man would not be welcome on any property of mine, armed or not. Actually, I would be surprised if he could handle a firearm, LOL!

The greatest contribution Donald Trump could make to this country would be to climb to the top of his tower...and jump. Even better if he landed on Pence and McConnell.

Once guns are brought into the equation, it's a totally different message. Use your words people.

I've only gone to a couple of protests. There are always guns - even at the anti-gun rally. People protesting FOR gun control brought guns and a sign that said "I should have a license" or something like that. I thought it was a clever way to verbalize gun laws, not gun ban. But, it still felt weird.
