Hey people. As you know I'm American but I live in France.
Things are getting worst here, all schools and daycares are closed, nationwide.
But the French government is broadcasting something that I have NOT seen on the news in the US. I may have missed it, but better safe than sorry.
They are saying that in case of suspected Covid-19, DO NOT TAKE IBOPRUFEN, TAKE PARACETAMOL INSTEAD. I think they're saying that taking iboprufen risks aggravating an infection (but frankly I haven't read the details).
I'm not a doctor, I don't play one on TV, but I was extremely surprised to see this CONSTANT warning in France, with zero mention of it in the US. So I wanted to mention it.
That's all.

I’ll save others the Google: paracetamol is acetaminophen (Tylenol).

Health officials point out that anti-inflammatory drugs are known to be a risk for those with infectious illnesses because they tend to diminish the response of the body’s immune system. www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/14/anti-inflammatory-drugs-may-aggravate-coronavirus-infection

In my experience, Tylenol is really effective to reduce fever. While it might not always be the best choice for pain relief, it is the best choice for reducing fever.

I was a diehard Advil user until I learned of a scary and woefully-under-reported connection between Advil and heart attacks. My switch to Tylenol for aches and pains has been far less than satisfactory. Good to know it will at least help with fevers!!

Fever is generally good for the body at least at moderate levels. It helps to kill bacteria and viruses.

If I have pain, taking Tylenol works about as well as howling at the moon in the case of pain. Headache, my go-to is Excedrin (or the equivalent). Joint/muscle pain or tooth pain, my go-to is ibuprofen. For fever, I go to Tylenol every time. Fortunately, I rarely have to take any of them as I'm pretty darned healthy for an old gal.

Excedrin is aspirin? Excedrin is a combination of aspirin and Tylenol. Extra strength also has caffiene (helps with migraine and migraine-like headache).
