DT opens door to cuts in Medicare The next move in Trump administration's war on the disabled To an uninformed outsider's perspective, it may seem like people who currently receive benefits like SSDI are lazy or are just not trying hard enough to work. It's ignorant suppositions like this that seem to be informing the Social Security Administration's latest attack on the benefits that many people with disabilities and their families depend on to survive. The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced back in November a notice of proposed rulemaking to change the way that disability reviews are conducted for the Supplemental Security Income program (SSI) and the Social Security Disability Insurance program. It targets, among others, those seeking benefits for chronic conditions that flare unpredictably, like Crohn's disease or irritable bowel disease. It would also include children, individuals with mental illnesses and people with eating disorders, leukemia and HIV. www.cnn.com/2020/01/30/opinions/trump-administration-social-security-disability-benefits-cokley/index.html

Same thing under Reagan was a debacle. Nothing like mental old white men fucking with the nation's disabled folks. What is wrong with you Repo-Cons?

And yet most of those people are his followers, oh well, guess its gods will.
It's kind of like I hear about all the abuse of opiods, I go to pain management, the people I see are old, crippled, can hardly get out of their vehicles or transportation vans to get into the office. Are these the abusers? For awhile, I saw younger, what I thought were healthier looking people in there, but most of those seem to no longer be coming in. The NP said she talks to a lot of young people and asked them is this really what you want your life to be? The have you get xrays, urine tests and other documents. My GP said if I even feel some better don't stop unless they tell you, you have to. She said the waiting list is months and months long. And then I think of people that are even worse off then me, that can't get service. Can you imagine being in agony and noone can help give you relief. I can only imagine it truly bothers some doctors.
