as the War #2 moved from dire desperation, Dec 7, 1941 to just a matter of time till all are home again ...D Day, 1945... The following is a first person account from a member of that great generation... Things mentioned not readily known, ...little love of Gen. Patton from the grunts...luck of the draw whether u became a officer or not and how even those plans got changed in mid stream and what it was like to liberate those death camps of the Nazi's….also how the infamous SS were treated as they surrender...it's a bit long but I found quite interesting.. -------------------------------------------------------- nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/us-soldiers-who-liberated-nazi-concentration-camps-could-never-forget-what-they-saw-108546?page=0%2C3

If your ever in San Diego, on the harbor next to the USS Midway, they have a park dedicated to the "Greatest Generation" both are well worth the visit. I am a bit bias, my dad is a plank owner on the Midway
