Yeah, we have wild beavers on certain streets here too. Usually in halter tops and Daisy Dukes, near certain HOtels.

Sounds like life in the UP. A few years back the plane that flies to my hometown a couple of days a week had to be diverted to the next closest airport 100 miles away because a herd of deer wouldn't get off the runway.
From time to time there are deer in town window shopping. Every now and then one will dive through a store window.
If it's a bad summer with not many berries, bears come into town and dig around in the trash cans. Sometimes they get scared and climb trees in people's yards. They stay until they're damned good and ready to come down.

Wildlife stuff happens in more rural areas.
While living in northern MN, I took the phone call from an employee who was going to be late for work because there was a bear on the front porch. Not to worry, the neighbor was on the way over to shoot the bear.
In the same town, a teacher ran into a moose with one of the school cars, destroying the car. The moose appeared to be unharmed by the encounter.
Another resident found his small dog trapped under a table in his enclosed porch. The wolf that had the dog cornered had to be shot to protect the dog.

She said it was quite a project to convince it to leave peacefully without destroying her house.

On my last hike; Tahoe to Yosemite (150 miles) I saw two deer, a tiny frog and lots of tiny ground squirrels. In contrast I've seen as many as 17 deer in my front yard.
The eating is must better in suburbia. Wild areas require a lot more work!

A few years ago, there was a bear in a tree across the street from the apartment I was living in at the time. I live in a small city, so this is not a normal thing. The police had both ends of the street blocked off so I couldn't get out. I had an evil supervisor at the time, so I was afraid to call in and give that as the reason as she would never believe it. I took a picture so I could prove it.

I agree with Bonny - suburbia is wilder. I had to call into the office 3 years ago that I could not make it - because there was a swarm of bees all over our floor with my door being the worst. I heard later that they had to kill the queen and then the workers all disappeared in a few hours. I have never seen anything like that. The bees were huge - it was some sort of African bee and just looking at them made my skin crawl. One of my neighbors had a beehive on her ceiling 10 years ago and the way she found out was because all of a sudden there was honey leaking onto the bed.

We live on lake, on dead end road, lots of trees here and about once a year a tree falls across the road taking down the power lines. No electricity and can’t get out until crews come to remove tree and restore power. Then we have the odd squirrel that gets fried and takes out a transformer Almost everyone here has a generator

Our highly urban area has documented numerous coyotes. Dog and cat food outdoors is an easy dinner, along with dogs and cats outdoors. Feral hogs are absolutely destroying suburban yards here because it's so much easier to root up tasty snacks in nicely watered and aerated soil than the hard stuff out in the wild. Pecan and oak trees are very popular here too and the hogs are so grateful for the bounty of pecans and acorns every year. Honey bee colonies are pretty common too. Sometimes you can get a trapper to collect them but most times an exterminator has to eliminate them

My county in No. CA is one of the last open range areas. The ranchers range their cattle in the mountains each year then drive them down the highway to their ranch land. I had a job interview and left a bit early. I get onto the only highway into town behind a couple hundred cows and the horses driving them. Not only do they coat the road in crap, but they also don't move terribly fast. I was a bit late for my interview but I had a rural living excuse... I did get the job and the interviewer had been caught behind a cattle drive that year as well.
