Since there isn't a link I can't look at how the percents were calculated. But isn't going from the -20s to +30s a 50 point improvement but going from 30s to 50s only a 20 point improvement? So while it grew under trump it didn't grow near the magnitude it did under Obama? Not to mention comparing 3 years to 8 years is, well, not the best to do. www.macrotrends.net/2482/sp500-performance-by-president
the main trick they are using is comparing based on "from election to election" rather than "from inauguration to inauguration"
this gives Trump a HUGE handicap, because, if you will recall, the stock market was in FREE FALL in the final months of the Bush regime, and was RALLYING in the final months of the Obama regime.
if you look at this the way most other people do, Trump has underperformed Obama.
I remember our now dearly departed ‘old friend’,DJ, from this and a previous board, that referred to the BushCo. Crash as the “Obama Recession” shortly after the 2008 election. Repo-Cons unfairly and unintelligently trashing him months before the inauguration. Part of the playbook.

Today they have one. www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/trumps-stock-rally-far-outpaces-those-of-past-presidents/ar-BBYmdSM

Many reporters are quite critical of him and have even turned rather political in their repoting since trump won the office. Before this they were always about 95% strictly stock and economic reports. They have been losing to Fox Business the last few years which does push politics, and have changed their style for this reason. I know because I watch CNBC 80% of the time over Fox Business. I prefer my stock news to be stock news. If Bloomberg business was not so darn dry and boring, I would switch to them DJ....Who was this? I should remember this person. We do have dj here on the boards now.....

So sue me.😎 Anyway, it was chinsy, our old nemesis from a previous board that was also here. She and I go back over 15 years and shared girl’s hoop ‘stuff’ as we both coached our daughters. I miss wrangling with her wacky self.😜
