Ever since Obama won the 'Peace Prize' it's been a <shrug> Kissinger in 1973 did the same for me. President Trump's comments make it a little more interesting again.

Ever since Obama won the 'Peace Prize' it's been a <shrug> So you believe none of these Nobel Peace prize winners since Obama were not worth your admiration and respect? Really? No even Malala Yousafzai? 2010 Liu Xiaobo "for his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China"[3] 2011 Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkul Karman "for the security and women's rights" 2012 European Union "for having over six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe"[4] 2013 Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons for its work in destroying chemical weapons 2014 Kailash Satyarthi (India) and Malala Yousafzai (Pakistan) "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education." 2015 Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet "for its decisive contribution to the building of a pluralistic democracy in Tunisia in the wake of the Jasmine Revolution of 2011"[5] 2016 Juan Manuel Santos (Colombia) "for his resolute efforts to bring the country's more than 50-year-long civil war to an end, a war that has cost the lives of at least 220,000 Colombians and displaced close to six million people"[6] 2017 International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapon "for its work to show the humanitarian crisis of any use of nuclear weapon and for its ground-breaking efforts to achieve a treaty-based prohibition of such weapons."[7] 2018 Denis Mukwege (DRC), Nadia Murad (Iraq) "for their efforts to end the use of sexual violence as weapon of war and armed conflict."[8] List of Nobel Peace Prize winners (by year)

On the heels of her fiery speech at the UN Climate Action Summit, 16-year-old Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg has been named one of the 2019 Right Livelihood Award winners. The international award, widely known as the "alternative Nobel Prize," was established in 1980 to "honor and support courageous people solving global problems." The awards were announced at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm, Sweden, on Wednesday. The official ceremony takes place on December 4. www.cnn.com/2019/09/25/world/greta-thunberg-right-livelihood-nobel-trnd/index.html

I haven't paid that much attention. Since Obama won it for the 'potential of peace' I figure anyone can win it.
It's a <shrug> Glad for the winners if they are glad to receive it.

As usual, another area where you are completely uninformed. One does not apply. One is nominated.

The previous two posts have been removed. OldCoyote, stick to discussion of the subject at hand and not your pesonal opinions concerning the worthiness of others' posts. Tennesseer, please don't respond to what appear to be trolling posts. Thanks. mmhmm, Administrator who's tired of dealing with this nonsense

DJ was not speaking of another poster, OC. Pointing out ignorance is not an insult. We're all ignorant to varying degrees and in varying areas of knowledge. Ignorance is not the same as stupidity (which would be an insult). Now, just do as you've been asked and stick to the subject of the thread. You are not the subject of the thread. mmhmm, Administrator
