We just watched this last night. Thought it was pretty good. A little Michael Moore-ish at times, but overall I thought it was well done. I had just noticed that one of my old 401k accounts JUST got up to where it was prior to the economic meltdown. I quit my job in Dec 2008 and had 250k in there when I quit. It dropped down to ~150k, now it is finally back up to $250k. So as far as I can tell, I lost 2 years + $100k +30 years of gains on that money in that account alone. Makes me kind of depressed. The other thing that got me was the way the academic professors are all on the boards of directors for these financial giants. I also work in academia, and the conflict of interest just astounded me. I also work in academic medicine so we are required by law to always establish COI in any publication, meeting, presentation, etc. I just thought it was amazing a professor at Harvard would "make" $125k writing a fraudulent paper about Iceland. I seriously am in the wrong field.

Yes I watched it. It was good.
Funny to see all these CEO's in front of the Congress just fumbling with words...Amazing to me none of them are in jail. But then again, it's all politics.
Another good ones I watched:
Meltdown Food Matters Food Inc. National Geographic: Inside North Korea Vice Guide to Travel The Third Jihad I.O USA In Debt We Trust Talibanistan Frontline: Breaking the Bank Frontline: Inside the Meltdown Frontline: Black Money Frontline: The Card Game Frontline: Ten Trillion and Counting The Future of Food Tapped
and many others...

I haven't seen "Inside Job", but I've just put it in first place on my Netflix queue....

If any of your holdings paid dividends and you had them automatically reinvested, you'd have been acquiring more during that time... We're retired and most of our funds pay dividends (which we have set to automatically reinvest), so our dividends purchased more while the price was depressed....
Even if you didn't have any paying dividends, this is something that does happen from time to time. It will happen again.
