Just ate a vegan almond milk yogurt.
Not great.

I have tried a few things made with almond milk but have found them to be disappointing. I keep expecting them to taste like almonds (yum) or even almond extract (also yum), but they all just taste of sawdust and sadness.
My current favorite yogurt is Icelandic Provisions chocolate coconut skyr. It is less sweet than most supermarket yogurt but still quite palatable. It is made with regular milk. Liberte coffee yogurt is also quite tasty, if one likes coffee-flavored things.

I've eaten CarbMaster (a kroger brand) yogurt on and off over the years. It does have an aftertaste. A few months ago I discovered the combo of CarbMaster vanilla with fresh berries isn't too bad.

It's so hard to find good yogurt! Especially if you want one without added sugar, fake sugars, starch, non fat crap, and other stuff I don't know what it is.
Almond milk still creeps me out though because what processing does a nut have to go through to become milk. Not to mention the almond farms ruining rivers and such.

I buy Fage 2% plain in the big "tub"! That way I can scoop out what I want and add my own stuff. Nuts, fresh fruit, etc. I sweeten with a bit of local honey. It's a tad pricey but worth it to me. I don't like things that are "artificially flavored" for the most part. Not saying any worse or any better than others just my preference.
But will also admit that I make my own a lot of the time. I have a yogurt make from W&S from long ago that is still kicking along. I started making my own way back in the 70's when you couldn't get yogurt in the stores here at the time.

Have you tried Siggi's or Icelandic Provisions? They are much less sweet than other flavored yogurts and have a nice texture.

Currently usually get liberte. I wish they didn't switch their vanilla to the ones with the stuff on the bottom but it's good.

I'm especially partial to the coffee and coconut flavors. Yum.

Bleh. I HATE yogurt. Even ice cream yogurt. Yuck! 🤮 I'm with you. I grew up on a dairy farm & all it is...is sour milk to me. And that Greek stuff is worse, it's nasty! Never have figured out how you milk an almond. I hadn't noticed any teats on them.

And I've never figure out why folks want stuff to taste like almonds! I assume if you use almond milk on stuff it will taste like almonds? Just curious since I don't like anything artificially flavored, right down to chips and stuff. Why would I want my oatmeal, cream of wheat to taste like almonds - I cook these with milk instead of water. But that aside I do like my plain yogurt since that is what this thread is about.
Guess that's why they make chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry - to each his own

Almond milk doesn't taste like almonds. I'd probably like it more if it did. I like almonds.

Almond milk doesn't taste like almonds. I'd probably like it more if it did. I like almonds. Agree. It has also made life easier for a lot of people like my nephew, who has an anaphylactic reaction to milk, but could only drink soy milk when he was young. Now he has so many other options. Hasn't anyone had horchata? It is made from rice here (like the Mexicans do) but usually made from nuts in Spain. I think all the various milk products from nuts and grains are variations of this.

Almond milk doesn't taste like almonds. I'd probably like it more if it did. I like almonds. Thanks for clearing that up. I had no idea. Of course I should add that I’m not a milk drinker at all so was curious. I only use it like I said in post. So it’s a dairy replacement

Yogurt still messes with my stomach. I am able to eat cheese now. I spent years having to cut out dairy. Using the nut milks. Lactaid made things worse.
Kraft cheese is lactose free. It still bothered if I ate too much. After months of digestive issues, I quit water first thing in the morning, coffee, eggs, cheese. I have not put plain eggs back in my diet. I can eat a little bit of mayonnaise but sometimes I forget. Usually when eating out.
I'm using probiotics. My dr. said it would take months to get it up to normal.

And I understand your assumption that it would taste like almonds. Coconut everything seems to be the "in" thing for people who like to think of themselves as healthier than everyone else. Some of the items (I believe) do have a coconut taste. Other products don't. I don't really like coconut, so I have been avoiding them all.

Horchata also has a bunch of sugar and cinnamon in it (at least around here it does). Who cares what the base is - it is just a sugar delivery system. (And delicious).
