Michigan city council candidate Jean Cramer wants to keep community as white "as possible"A Michigan city council candidate shocked a public forum when she said she wants to keep "Marysville a white community as much as possible." Jean Cramer made the comment Thursday in response to a question about diversity in Marysville, a city in St. Clair County, 55 miles northeast of Detroit. The Times Herald in Port Huron says she's one of five candidates running for three council seats in November. After the forum, Cramer told the newspaper that she's not "against blacks" but believes married couples "need to be the same race." "As long as, how can I put this? What Kathy Hayman doesn't know is that her family is in the wrong," she said. "(A) husband and wife need to be the same race. Same thing with kids. That's how it's been from the beginning of, how can I say, when God created the heaven and the earth. He created Adam and Eve at the same time. But as far as me being against blacks, no I'm not." I just had a weird thought.
this reminds me of how OUT gay people are in many cases, now. it is no longer a big deal for racists to lay it all out there. and that is equal parts alarming and fascinating.
NOTE: I am in NO OTHER WAY drawing a comparison between racists and gays, if you were wondering.

So the dinosaurs still roam in Marysville, Michigan city council, I guess.

Good thing I never intended to move to Marysville anyway seeing that I am foreign born. Or does that not count for the likes of me with my lilly-white *ss?

So poor Jean Cramer had to drop out of the race.

There is a city called Marysville in Washington that was receiving questions and comments regarding this issue, especially after news outlets posted a picture of their municipal court building with the article. They even had to put a #NotOurMarysville disclaimer on social media.

She could no longer speak at campaigns with both feet in her mouth.

Twitter users were confusing this guy with the racist Congressional rep Steve King of Wisconsin. At least the other Steve King thought it was funny.

When I first heard "Marysville" I immediately thought of our Marysville and also thought that the Tulalips were not going to be happy with this lady.
