Morning, dd34. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
I have no direct or indirect experience with MS.
Your script:daily doses or once weekly, monthly? Will your medical insurance cover the bill?

The doctor wants me on something called copaxone 3 time's a week injections the online pharmacy the doctor referred me to quoted me 2000 bucks for the "script", and I did not go any further with her because I stated that I did not have insurance and that is the "cash" price, so she said she was going to "reach out" to some foundations to see what kind of "assistance" I can get......... That is where I am now

Don't discount contacting the manufacturer to see if they have any programs you might qualify for also.

ETA seems like the first link was a bit misleading unless you clicked on the correct part of the page - one was telling about drug and not where to get info help.

Take into consideration that I am someone who doesn't even take aspirin but just curious if he can go to Canada for the injections since I think it is in shot form? Curious as to how that would work. Like I said I am dumb as red brick when it comes to meds.
ETA: Ok giving some more thought to this I guess maybe get prescription filled in Canada and bring the little "bottles" of med back for dr here to give injections or get the whole thing done in Canada.
I am really asking out of total ignorance on how all this would work - my learn something new for the day maybe. Keep in mind if I was asked questions about health care here I would be as clueless so just curious.

Have you checked Good RX? My sister was prescribed an $1,800 medication and found a coupon for $1,650 off, so it only cost her 150. That said...it wasn't an ongoing medication. Just a one time treatment.
I've known a lot of people who have had success controlling MS with diet, lifestyle, meditation, exercise, yoga, etc. I think one person went vegan. Not that those things are a successful solution for everyone - but look into natural options. It may really help in conjunction with medications, etc. And be aware of supplement scams.

This. The people buying insulin in Canada bring the drugs back with them. He can have a MD/PA/RN inject him in the US.

We have a relative who has MS and has used Copaxone for 17 years. Her results have been great - no relapses, her lesion count has actually gone down since her diagnosis. Teva (the manufacturer) doesn't make the claim that the drug reverses MS - but it can.
He can have a MD/PA/RN inject him in the US. Probably not needed, it is a tiny needle, maybe 3/8 inch long. You stab it in the back of an arm, leg, butt, etc. Pretty easy for most patients. Years ago it was a daily shot. Now it is 3 times a week. Teva has on-going research to make an oral version - but not yet available. The drug is packaged in dry ice for shipping - for travel it can go un-refrigerated for 3 or 4 days.

He can buy it here, then have a MD/PA/RN inject him the first time, and show him how to do it.
