I've been home for hours and posted in the Coffee Shop asking for lunch or snacks. I've been ignored. At least in the Peace Corps people will be glad to see me. I think.
Jimmy Carter's mother served in the Peace Corps. I think she was only in her sixties when she joined, though.

I don't think I've ever been THAT bored.
There's just got to be something more interesting to read or do.

Well, at the moment I'm reading "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" but it's slow going. Not that it's not a good book. It's just a lot to take in. Usually I only read mindless drivel that I forget as soon as I finish the last page.
I could go poke around in the back yard, but I don' t feel like it.
I cleaned the bathroom that I share with DGS. He's moving this weekend into his own place so it won't have to be cleaned as often.
I washed my cleaning rags and folded/hung up DD's stuff from the dryer. And I'm making supper because DD wants glazed ham steaks and doesn't have a clue how to go about it.
And still nobody has provided snacks in the Coffee Shop.
Maybe I'll just eat some worms.

Gramma, that is a great book. I read it, and Crabby just finished. Neither of us guessed it and we both should have. One of the best "who done its" I have read in a while.

I've only just finished Chapter 9 and he's barely started (beginning of January), but here's my guess...Harriet is alive (the dried flowers on the uncle's birthday every year). And I bet she's alive on the island. Maybe being held captive or something? If being held captive, it'll probably be Martin, although I haven't met all the characters yet so maybe there's somebody more likely. Blomkvist and Salander are going to Do the Deed on a regular basis (she hasn't entered the picture in Hedeby yet), but she's gonna fall in love while he's only in lust until he gets back to the married girlfriend. Wennstrom? Probably the uncle has proof that he's guilty of the stuff that Blomqkvist wrote about and maybe even more.
Gotta go put supper in the oven.
ETA: But don't tell me!!!

Well...I didn't want to mention it, PoM. Apparently, we hadn't seen the hussy side of Cael before. Or we saw it and missed it. I'm shocked and dismayed

No, thanks. Can I wait until after dinner? I don't wanna spoil my appetite...we're having glazed ham and au gratin potatoes (aka hog rotten potatoes). I requested the hog rottens, but DD was gonna make mac and cheese Mac and cheese is the starch of choice among the proletariat.

You seem really nice, and you could share this. You could volunteer in a near by hospital in so many ways. Hospital volunteers are always appreciated by staff and patients.
You could help the nurses/cna's/techs out by giving pillows, blankets to patients. You could be a visitor for a patient who has no one to visit them. You could read stories to the pediatric patients.

Deb...I don't go to hospitals. Bacteria abound in hospitals. I'd like to be one of those people who die from natural causes, not from a nasty bacteria that attacks me in a hospital. Even if not for that I get attached to people, and if somebody I befriended died, it probably wouldn't destroy me, but close.

I understand. As a med student and resident I cried on many drives home from work.
You could be a 'reader' at a school, church or library. If you're good at it...You could make some money with a audio type book maker.

Bacteria do abound in hospitals.
I was told during training that if you stay in a hospital for 3 days straight your skin flora changes.( to gram negative rods) I

Please note the change of name. Y'all may call me Your Highness or Your Royal Highness, or just Queenie, if that's more comfortable for you. I need a crown, but we don't have one on the list. Drat.
