Shotguns are more fun, but hammers have less chance of attracting the authorities.

I usually start by kicking it. Just make sure you kick it from the side and don't hit it straight on with your toes, that hurts.

Having a meltdown? Take it outside with some lighter fluid and match.

Anyone else getting a visual of the "fax machine in the field" scene from "Office Space"?

I think it's really politically incorrect for you to be talking about violence. We need to all be sensitive to the needs of others.

I pick the sucker up and toss it out the door. Then for good measure, I take the sledge hammer to it. Living in the city, I have learned NOT to use the shotgun!

I remember seeing on the internet a soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan taking a machine gun to a computer part that broke down, and the 1-800 number back in the states wouldn't help him. I was impressed with the distance he set it at--he still hit his target! (Lotsa holes!)

We are being sensitive.
Wyouser needs information, and we are sensitive enough to provide it. I can think of worse ways to put recalcitrant electronics out of their puny little existence:
Drown them
Let small children play with them
Use them as camping tent tie-downs

Let a small child play with it and it'll be up and running in no time ;D

lol.
I always thought we should raffle off the chance to beat the crap out a computer, as a fundraiser/morale booster at work. An older model, obviously. But give the winner safety goggles and long pants/sleeves, etc. and let them have at it.

I think the hammer is safer if you really have given up on the computer working again.
