For a guy, I keep a pretty clean house. Lately though I keep running into what I call "invisible"spider hanging from the ceiling. I'll be walking around the house and I get a web across my face. You can't see them. Where do they come from?
I never see the spiders or any webs anywhere. Creeps me out.

That'll happen to us in the garden. A spider will string a line from tree to tree across a walking path. The light has to hit it just right to see it. It doesn't tend to happen in the house, but I dust almost every Monday. We have a few windows that spiders love, and there will be new webs on Tuesdays after I've taken the webs out on Mondays.

Small spiders.
I look at my ceiling frequently. A friend said nobody looks at their ceiling. Well, I do. Sneaky mosquitoes or other insects ride in and get on the popcorn ceiling.
Oddly, I have had spiders drop on me from trees and I couldn't feel them. Then I have a little critter drop and I can feel it immediately. I got some of those pest control things put in electrical plug ins. My son said he had no boxelder bugs since they started using them.

I have a serious phobia of spiders and bugs. For years I have used Ortho Home Defense in my garage and it has worked very well. (Lasts up to 12 months.) I do have to clean up dead bugs I find though. A few months ago, after finding a large spider (neighbor killed it for me), I brought it in and sprayed my apt. I also sprayed the area outside my doors and windows. So far, I haven't seen any bugs or spiders. And I haven't felt any webs, either in or outside my apt. YAY!
I just can't deal with them.

Just so ya'al know...in your entire life, you are never more than 5' from a spider. Just realize that some are so small you almost need a magnifying glass to see them...like as tiny as a pencil dot.
Spiders are good, they eat those other nasty insects like skeeters & flies.

I would never kill a spider, but Sushi the Great Spider Hunter eats them.

Not all spiders make "spider webs" to catch prey... all spiders make "silk". I think some house spiders use their "silk" for getting around (up/down) and for making a 'nest' for the night (in the corner of the room or between closed blinds I don't know where the spiders come from/how they get in the house. I tend to NOT kill the spiders living in my house - I imagine them trading the favor of "eating other bugs" for the shelter my house provides them. They are like little creepy 8 legged room mates. My elderly cats no longer bother with catching bugs -- unless the hapless creature antagonizes one of them cats. On a "thing from my childhood" - every fall I will "dust'" the ceilings as part of "fall cleaning'. In the olden days - my mom (and then I) would put an old terry dishtowel over the head of the broom and then 'sweep the cieling". These days - I use a dry swiffer sweeper - to swiffer the cielings. . My mom did this every autumn to remove all the cobwebs and spider webs and "sleeping spiders" from the corners of the rooms. It's a good tradition.

Big fan of spiders and bugs. I think they're fascinating.
Spiders are beneficial, so I don't kill them. Keeping the ceilings and walls (especially the corners) swept/dusted cuts down on surprise encounters with spider silk, but sometimes a spider just has to get from point A to point B, and spider silk is how they do it. They are just going about their spider business, tracking down less beneficial things and eating them.

The label says it is. I used it around my ferrets and my daughter uses it around her small indoor dogs with no problems.

I won't bother you, as long as you don't bother me, or come near me. So far, it's working. But I'd rather not see them.
