What is yours? Edit: This is more grandmafession. My grand kids were at my house so much. For relief I was on the golf course most days. DD has now found out what I meant. Some from Strahan and Sara were alcohol in the juice bottle. Flipping off difficult teen daughter after the door closed. Saying they were going out to take a call when actually and short break.

I haven't confessed mine yet. I'm waiting until one of the girls has kids and the same situation applies.

You mean people wait until the teenager turns their back to flip them off?

I told my kids that they weren't allowed to go to kindergarten if they couldn't tie their shoes or take a shower by themselves. I just hated velcro shoes and was tired of mopping up after baths. They bought it.

They bought it. I told DS he couldn't go to preschool until he was potty trained (true) and that if he peed or pooped his pants at school, the kids would make fun of him. He was miraculously potty trained.

I eat ice cream out of a mug and tell DS it's coffee. He gets a cone full of plain greek yogurt with sprinkles and we call that ice cream.
ETA: He does get regular ice cream occasionally so he's not completely clueless.

I've told Abby the stuff in the red can isn't pop, it's mommy juice and she wouldn't like it so I don't have to share. When she figures out how to read I am going to be in so much trouble.

After his first hotel stay where DS1 slept in our bed every night at 1.5yo it took a full year and an international move to get DS1 back to his own bed. I told him kids in the US did not sleep in their parents' bed. He bought it → DS2 never got a chance to test this out

I welcome my kids home from college during breaks but secretly am beginning to REALLY enjoy being an almost-empty-nester and I look forward to them going back. 🤫

It is NO secret I love it when mine go back to colleges! DH and I high five each other when they announce when they'll be leaving.

Some of these are pretty mild and have been told for years. But I did find this one funny: ICE CREAM TRUCKS PLAY MUSIC ONLY WHEN OUT OF ICE CREAM Whether it was playing "Yankee Doodle," "The Entertainer," or some other iconic tune, you probably grabbed whatever change you could and went running after the ice cream truck when you heard its familiar sound. Unlucky kids had parents who convinced them the truck only played music when it ran out sweet treats — when really they just didn't want the kid having ice cream. Lies Your Parents Told You as a Kid

Mommy and Daddy need naps in the afternoon and you are only allowed to knock if the house is burning down.

I sometimes wish at 73 we could get our DD in a nice place. Sometimes I just don't want to deal with her and I feel bad. She can't take care of herself.

I am counting down the days until I am an empty nester. I love my kids, but I don't want to live with them anymore. I want to be able to chase Goose around the house naked whenever I want.

Yes, the year she was gone hubs didn't have to make sure he was clothed all the time and things, I know he felt more freed but we do what we need to do. We would like being empty nesters. But she stays in her room most of the time. We can't get her out to interact very much so she isn't a problem really.

My Momfessions are way to old to be recounted today. I'm just glad there wasn't a place like this to post "anonymously" though.
If I had admitted some of my fessions y'all would have been reporting me and my isp address would have been traced to my door and I would be hauled off in handcuffs most likely.
