Each state political party appoints a slate of electors. That slate is actually who is elected in November when voters mark a ballot for the party's nominee. It is generally a reward to individuals who have done good deeds for the party. They are the exact opposite of non-partisan. thanks.
that actually concerns me quite a bit. Florida would probably be the best example of a problem. since 47% of Florida voted for Biden, why would 47% of the electors not flip over to him?
Because the Florida Legislature has not establish that as the way it will work in Florida.

The US wants to tell the world how they should govern and elect their leaders and now we have this. Frankly the US needs to STFU on how others run their elections and govern. We can’t even consistently send the person to the White House that gets the most votes and now we have the sore loser Trump party throwing shade at an electoral ass whipping.

so, I repeat my question: why don't they vote for Biden?

You understand the slate of electors chosen if Trump wins is not the same slate of electors chosen if Biden wins...

I thought they were the same slate.
ok, that explains everything.
so, if the state is certified for the GOP, then GOP electors are chosen. and one would imagine they are chosen for faithfulness. and if the Democrat is certified, the electors are chosen by Democrats?

How does California select its electors? On or before October 1 of the presidential election year, each party's nominee must file a list containing the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of the 55 electors pledges to him/her. Each party determines its own method for selecting electors.
In the Democratic Party, each congressional nominee and each US Senate nominee (determined by the last two elections) designates one elector. Elections Code section 7100
In the Republican Party, the nominees for Governor, Lt. Governor, Treasurer, Controller, Attorney General, Secretary of State, U.S. Senate at the last two elections, Assembly Republican leader, Senate Republican leader, all elected officers of the Republican State Central Committee, national committeemen/women, President of Republican County Central Committee Chairmen's Association, and chair or President of each Republican volunteer organization officially recognized by the Republican State Central Committee (RSCC) shall be electors. U.S. Senators, Representatives in Congress and persons holding office of trust or profit of the U.S. may not be electors. Any additional vacancies shall be filled by appointment of the chair of Republican State Central Committee according to Republican State Central Committee bylaws. Republican State Central Committee Chair must file the list with the Secretary of State by October 1 of the presidential election year. Elections Code section 7300
In the American Independent, Green and Libertarian party electors are nominated at their state convention and the state chair certifies their names and residence addresses to the Secretary of State. Elections Code section 7578
In the Peace and Freedom Party electors are nominated at their state convention. Electors shall be 50% women and 50% shall be men. The party chair certifies the list to the Secretary of State. Elections Code section 784

Fact check: No soldiers died in nonexistent raid to seize election servers in GermanyThe claim: Soldiers died in a U.S. Army raid to retrieve election servers in Germany Since mid-November, unfounded rumors that the U.S. Army performed a raid in Germany to seize servers with election-related information have proliferated online. Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney spread the rumor in an appearance on Worldview Radio & WVW-TV on Nov. 28. "The U.S. Army, the U.S. Special Forces Command, seized a server farm in Frankfurt, Germany," he said. He also said that he heard the seizure "didn't go down without incident." "I haven’t been able to verify it,” McInerney explained. “I want to be careful in that. It’s just coming out, but I understand — my initial report is — that there were U.S. soldiers killed in that operation." Users like Steve Willingham then took to Facebook to claim that five soldiers who died in a helicopter crash in Egypt on Nov. 12 were actually killed in the raid. "Cover story is that these 5 died in a training accident," he wrote on Facebook Nov. 30. "General McInerney says 'no', they we’re (sic) killed gaining entry into the CIA Server Farm." McInerney, Worldview Radio & WVW-TV, and Willingham have not responded to requests from USA TODAY for comment. No soldiers died in nonexistent raidThe U.S. Army did not perform a raid in Germany to seize servers with election-related information. The story was previously debunked by USA TODAY. Because there was no raid, there were also no casualties. Spokespeople for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command and U.S. Army Public Affairs have confirmed to the Associated Press that claims of a raid are untrue. "These allegations are false," they said. The Special Operations Command has not had a fatal incident since August, when two soldiers died in a helicopter crash in California. Its most recent combat deaths were in Afghanistan in February, per the Military Times. The five soldiers killed in the helicopter crash in Sinai, Egypt, on Nov. 12 were on a peacekeeping mission. Though the cause of the crash is still under investigation, there were no signs of an attack and it appeared to be an accident, according to the Associated Press. McInerney and misinformation McInerney is not a credible source of information on the matter. Retired from the Air Force in 1994,he has a history of false and controversial statements. In 2010, he questioned whether President Barack Obama’s birth records were authentic, per Media Matters. Obama's campaign had posted his Hawaiian birth certificate online in 2008, following conspiracy theories that he wasn't born in the U.S. In 2018, he was fired as a contributor to Fox News for falsely claiming that torture had “worked on” Sen. John McCain, who endured five years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam, per the Arizona Republic. Our rating: False Based on our research, the claim that soldiers died in a U.S. Army raid to retrieve election servers in Germany is FALSE. Spokespersons for U.S. Army have confirmed that there was no raid in Germany and were no casualties. If this election has highlighted anything, it is that the Loser is a one-trick pony. Yet for his followers this one trick is enough. before the 2016 election there were many reports of the Loser not paying his contractors and he did that in part by burying them under lawsuits they did not have the resources to fight. So they took the loss and either went bsnkrupt or struggled for a long time to make up for their losses. The party line, fed to them at the time by the Loser, that these contractors had delivered subpar work so of course he did not pay the agreed upon contract price. And his followers went "good businessman" Here we are after 4 years. The Loser is burying the country is dozens of baseless lawsuits, claiming election fraud on a humongous scale. So of course he can't give up fighting for "freedom" and not surprisingly a large contingrnt of his followers go "stop the steal". If they ever wake up they will owe those contractors a huge apology! However, if I were one of those contractors I would not hold my breath as the Loser's followers will probably be asleep longer than Rip van Winkle or even Sleeping Beauty...

There is concern that the lack of laws requiring photo ID is likely to result in wide spread fraudulent voting in today's election.

Trump will likely have an early lead in the voting today. It will take a later "" of votes from predominantly Democratic West Coast states to create Biden's margin of victory.

I think this happened once with Popes, when we had the Pope in Rome and the Pope in the south of France, if I’m not mistaken. It ended with a bloodbath probably, because that’s how these things always used to end. And may again.

Check out how North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer (R) answered the question Monday about whether Biden is now President-elect:
"Well, it seems to me that being elected by the Electoral College is a threshold where a title like that is probably most appropriate and it's, I suppose you can say official, if there is such a thing as official President-elect, or anything else-elect. And there's an inauguration that will swear somebody in and that person will be the president of the United States, but whether you call it that or not, you know, there are legal challenges that are ongoing -- not very many -- probably not a remedy that would change the outcome but, so, I don't -- again I don't know how politician refers to another politician but it does look to me like the big race is really between the inaugural committee and the Justice Department at this point so we'll see how the emails turn out."
That's 138 words when one would suffice: "Yes."

Is this true? (Randall) Munroe, again, says it well:

Just one confirmed case of voter fraud in Pennsylvania. One confirmed case. Pennsylvania Trump supporter charged with voter fraudA Pennsylvania man has been charged with illegally casting a ballot for President Trump in the name of his deceased mother in this year's presidential election, authorities announced on Monday. Bruce Bartman faces two felony counts of perjury and one count of unlawful voting after casting an absentee ballot for Trump in the name of Elizabeth Bartman, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "In the hundreds of calls we received and the hundreds of visits we made, we only found one instance of malfeasance, and that was Mr. Bartman," said First Assistant District Attorney Tanner Rouse, the head of that task force. "And he will be prosecuted." Article here: Pennsylvania Trump supporter charged with voter fraud

I am glad Republicans recognize the intrinsic unfairness of winner take all electoral voting. perhaps they will now step up and change it.
