When this came out the Russian woman was trading sex and other crimes going all the way to the White House, Now it comes out that most of this is lies from the Government prosecutors office,,, now backtracking,, Which leads me to ask this question,, Why is this not at least slander?
They came out announced to the World thru the Media that was doing all these nefarious things, most of which are untrue. How can they do that and get away with it?

Admitted Russian agent Butina sentenced to 18 months, deportationWASHINGTON, April 26 (Reuters) - A federal judge on Friday sentenced Russian agent Maria Butina to 18 months in prison after Butina pleaded guilty in December to conspiring with a Russian official to infiltrate a gun rights group and influence U.S. conservative activists and Republicans. U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan said the 18 months will include the approximately nine months Butina already has served in jail since her arrest in July. She also agreed to have Butina deported back to Russia after she completes her sentence. "This was no simple misunderstanding by an overeager foreign student," Chutkan said before imposing the sentence, which was the same amount of prison time prosecutors had recommended. I am surprised you do think it was over zealous Prosecurial (sp?)misconduct. Charging her before they had all the evidence, because quite frankly, this looks like a case of "Oh never mind, we got it wrong in the beginning".
