... no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States. Technically, there is no religious requirement...I dont think the constitution can force voters to ignore personal information that is important to them. That said, those evangelicals are really fucking up our government.

The Bible mentions homosexuality zero times... AOC is actually doing pretty damn good. Do you follow her Twitter? I think the old testament refers to it, but it also says you have to make your daughter marry her rapist and you can't wear clothing with two or more fibers. There are a lot of things in the old testament that modern Christians don't adhere to.
If you look at a Bible where Jesus' words in the new testament are printed in red, he never talks about homosexuality.
The Evangelical abhorrence against homosexuality is a social taboo, much like the Christian taboo from 50 years ago that different races shouldn't marry each other, or the one the Southern churches came up with 150 years ago, that said God was perfectly fine with people owning slaves, because it talked about slaves in the Bible, and perfectly fine to beat your wife, as long as it wasn't with a rod thicker than your thumb. And around here, my favorite interpretation of the Bible by the Southern Baptists, that when Jesus talked about drinking wine, he really talked about drinking grape juice.
With their support of Trump, evangelicals have absolutely lost the high ground in any moral discussion - no way you can excuse a serial divorcee whose sexual exploits with a mistress were front page tabloid fodder for many years, then turn around and lecture a gay guy about sin.

The word homosexual was coined in the 1800s... there was no word for it in Aramaic.
What is mentioned at one point is one man subjugating oneself to another... which rule i would say Franklin Graham breaks every time he prostrates himself before the alter of trump....

... no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States. There may not be but have you seen a Jewish or atheist president. If you believe in conspiracy theories we have had a closet Muslim president. That went well.🤨

huh?
Saying you don't have to believe in god to be president isn't bashing religion. it's stating the law.

I understand the law but it seems over time an unwritten societal rule has taken hold. Otherwise the Obama being a closet Muslim wouldn't have been so popular. Nor would Trump have had to tout how much he suddenly loves the Bible. With the current crop of newbies in Congress I'd like to think we're headed in the right direction but I fear it might not reach the presidency in my lifetime. Just look at the backlash over an African American president.

Just look at the backlash over an African American president. There is much that has happened during my time on planet that prior I felt would never happen "in my lifetime", if ever. The subject of this thread is a prime example. No clue as to your age and, of course, no idea how much time you have left but I encourage you to keep the faith.

"They" can raise all the BS they want about Mayor Pete....I remember well all the BS that was raised about JFK due to him being (OMG) CATHOLIC! That just wouldn't do, he would never get elected, etc., etc., etc.! Just like Obama would never get elected since he was white/black! Let's not forget that his mother was 'white'.
And then from what I've read over several years of human research...we can ALL trace our roots back to one black woman in Africa. The paintings of Jesus are not accurate...most of them...he would not be WHITE, he would be a man of color whether he were Jewish or Muslim or any other religion! And I'm not bashing any religion.

If you go back to original text Romans 1:26 references, idolatry, shrine prostitution... at ‘best’ one could say it calls out All non-procreational sex as lustful.
1 Corinthians 6-9 uses the same word for prostitutes. The phrase often used to suggest ‘homesexual’ actually says abusers of themselves with mankind... which I could go into but don’t have time but in no way I can think of should refer to homosexuality...
oh that passage also equally condemns drunkards and theirs etc etc...
James 4:12?

Fatima Noor,,
As of June 2015, it appears that Noor has moved on
Does not say whether she was fired or just quit! Hmmmm, wonder if she is related to Noor the cop that shot the unarmed Pajama lady?
