The problem in America today is, we all consider ourselves experts on every issue. I get it. I am guilty of it. When we have to turn it all over to the actual people in charge as in actual lawyers who know Constitutional law, we are many times disappointed in the actual outcome, because they follow the actual legal intent of the law. Some of it is caused by our bias, some is not knowing the law, and much of it is in our hearts we know what should really be the result in a decent honest world regardless of law. One thing both conservatives and liberals should do, is never really take 99% of our politicians at face value and believe everything they say and believe they know more about the law than we do! They might know Constitutional law but political bias and promoting the party line distorts the truth every time. Sad, but true.

... At least the Republicans are not doing this! ... Do you even read what is posted? Or do you read it and then post with no regard for what is reported? Or are you simply that blinded by your bias?

Yes, I read it. It said the state Republican party went after info, but that does not have anything to do with his Presidential run. He was not running for the Presidency at that time. State Republicans and Democratic rivals are two separate issues. At least for me. I have previously stated on the boards I knew virtually nothing about him even though he is within an hour drivefrom my house in Indiana. I have since then started vetting him. So far, other than some of his liberal statements lately, he seems like a good politician. We have several friends who are from Fort Wayne, and they are also filling us in on him, and yes, they are not bias free either. It comes with the territory

OH BOY, Accusing V.B. of being blinded by bias,, annnnnd your excuse is?? Billisonboard is ok in my book. He calls it as he sees it. He saves me from myself sometimes! As to the article, it is 95% about Pete's democratic rivals and they throw in one or two lines about Republicans to continue attacking the right. I get it. Pete is intelligent. Maybe too young right now. Maybe not..... I will call him Pete, because spelling his name, it always looks incorrect to me.......

The right, nor the left for that matter, is not being "attacked". It is a political reality that opposition research is done. The linked article is a discussion of how it is playing out with a little known new candidate. Yes, at this point it is Democratic rivals primarily concerned. But the GOP would be fools to not be doing it now, so they will be prepared if he continues to grow support. They aren't fools.

The local democratic candidate or Donald Trump? Indiana Republicans digging dirt on him is irrelevant.

I kind of hope Mayor Pete gets the dem nomination simply because I think Trump would not bother to come up with a legitimate policy difference with him, on the debate stage, but Trump would get flustered by his excellent debate/oratory skills and Trump would immediately zero in on what he thinks would play well with his base - instead of Crooked Hillary, we'll get Nancy Pete, or some other anti-gay slur.
If he does, the backlash will give him whiplash, and the melt down and subsequent back pedaling would be amusing to see.

A dream presidential debate: on live TV, trump calls Buttigieg "Nancy Pete". Moderators state the debate is over and walk off the stage leaving trump hanging in the wind.

I'm laughing to myself imagining the finger pointing, lip pursing, word salad spluttering that that would induce.
Something with a lot of 'lock her up!' and 'build the wall's' thrown in.
Maybe, he would even short circuit himself in a puff of orange smoke, and we would discover he was just a bad Russian built robot....

based on current generic polling, I would rate the state either "tossup" or "barely Trump".

Another Trumpette making the mistake of listening to the words that come out of Trump's mouth.
Assume everything he says is a damn lie, a white lie, a dirty lie, some shit he pulled out of his ass, something Hannity made up, or an accidental truth, then google it to find out which. It's just safer that way.

you know what is irritating? these lies are so easy to swat down that one can only conclude that the tellers ENJOY LYING. it is really easy for me to dismiss such a person as unworthy of debate, conversation, and consideration.

I had to look Eduard Khil up. I thought I was watching an SNL spoof on poor lip synching and I didn't remember a cast member named Eduard Khil.

I had to look Eduard Khil up. I thought I was watching an SNL spoof on poor lip synching and I didn't remember a cast member named Eduard Khil. I saw this clip when it went viral a few years ago, and I couldn't unsee it. (proof being that I thought of it here). A lot about it screams Soviet era "bad". But it seems that Khil was an OK guy. And that song was supposed to have lyrics. He was offended that an aparachik sneered that the lyric makes the song, NOT the singer. He determined to sing it without lyrics. Kinda cool. He was an old man when it went viral here, and a lot of the comments weren't friendly. But he didn't seem to mind, according to the story. He claimed to be happy people were enjoying it. (I watched it a second time.)
