Stowaway cat survives 25-day voyage trapped in shipping container A severely emaciated cat is being nursed back to health after somehow surviving a 25-day voyage trapped inside a shipping container. The furry little stowaway was only discovered after the container finally arrived at its destination in Prince George, B.C. several weeks after departing from Shenzhen, China. There was no food or water inside – the BC SPCA believes the cat survived by drinking condensation that formed on the container's walls. But even though the scrappy survivor managed to beat the odds, she's still in for a long recovery. The North Cariboo District SPCA said Stowaway's weight had dwindled to just 1.5 kg, and she can only take small portions of food while her body adjusts. "We rushed her to the vet because she was in such poor condition that we knew she would require intensive veterinary care for an extended period of time to regain her strength," the SPCA's Alex Schare said on a fundraiser set up to help with her care. bc.ctvnews.ca/stowaway-cat-survives-25-day-voyage-trapped-in-shipping-container-1.4372368Poor little thing.

Oh, the poor kitty! I hope she recovers. She's lucky to have ended up in a place where the humans who found her were willing to put some effort into getting her into the right hands for care.

I too hope the kitty recovers completely. And she finds a great forever home.

Poor little dear! Hopefully, good food and good medical care will bring her back to the beauty she obviously is. Someone will be lucky to become her forever home.

Cats are amazing creatures. We had a cat as a child who would get closed in closets and drawers (on accident--he'd jump/walk in) and never make a sound sometimes for up to 3 days before we found him. I have a friend who wouldn't pay for a pet sitter and instead set out a ton of food and water for her cats while she was gone for a week. She came home and one of them had gotten locked in the bathroom, it looked like for almost the whole time. She recovered ridiculously fast--and friend always has a pet sitter come check on her babies now.
Hope the little thing makes a full recovery.

The offers are pouring in, from all across Canada, to adopt her.
