And this is from a first term Congress person just in her first two months in office! From the article:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)’s chief of staff helped establish two political action committees that paid a corporation he ran more than $1 million in 2016 and 2017, federal campaign finance records show.
Brand New Congress LLC, the corporation owned by Saikat Chakrabarti, was also paid $18,880 for strategic consulting by Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional campaign in 2017, records show. The following year, he worked as a volunteer to manage her campaign, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The arrangement, first reported by conservative outlets, left hidden who ultimately profited from the payments — a sharp juxtaposition with Ocasio-Cortez’s calls for transparency in politics. She has called dark money “the enemy to democracy.”

Isn't that the same excuse trump supporters use when he oversteps the law and his authority? Like when trump asked Comey to end the Flynn investigation? "Trump is new to government. He didn't know the rules about asking someone to kill an investigation."

He didn't know the rules about asking someone to kill an investigation." That is the excuse Ivanka, supported by the Trumpettes, used when she was called out about using private email for government business. Tell me which one of the two is least believable after the campaign her father ran?

... I imagine they will say, "she is a newbie, and probably did not know the rules, so no biggie". ... Would you please point out from the article where she broke any rules.

The new right wing socialist boogieman, I guess.

I've got more dirt on her. There is a video out there of her dancing taken back when she was in college. Quite provocative too, if you get my drift. Her hips move! Quick Elvis, tell Chuck Berry the news! Dancing? Oh the horror! (clutches pearls)

According to the article, no laws were broken. And this scenario pops up in all campaigns which is why I would prefer that the US did away with PAC's and Super PAC's. Let there be unlimited donations but the amount and the name of the donor must be released! No hiding anymore!

I think everyone should take a deep breath here. I did not write the headline of the article. I asked a question to the board, is she in trouble. I never said she was in trouble. The article was from the Washington Post. Members here do not accuse them of fake news. Do you say the Post is now fake news? As far as the article saying she is not in trouble, that is incorrect. They quoted people in the campaign and outside the campaign that she and her team broke no laws. The FEC has not said anything. Now to my thoughts on this...... A thought of mine is this guy worked for Bernie Sanders, and did the same thing for him. There were some eyebrows raised at the time over these manuevers. The problem is when the person is in charge of both entities moving money to and fro, it can lead to law problems. I think if they did a deep anaylsis of Bernie's campaign they might just find out these enourmous amounts of funds that flow into the campaigns overnight by millions of dollars supposedly by ther litte guts is not from the little guys after all.

I see it more generically, "Getting the attention of the reader" - but yeah buy, click, read, view.
