abc13.com/tiger-found-at-vacant-home-to-be-cared-for-at-texas-facility/5134439/ This is my favorite part "A concerned citizen called 311. They were trying to get into this house to smoke marijuana. We questioned them as to whether they were under the effects of the drugs or they actually saw a tiger. They saw a tiger in this building, this vacant house that's obviously been abandoned for some time," said Sgt. Jason Alderete, of HPD's Major Offenders, Livestock Animal Cruelty Unit."

Aww...poor tiger! Who just abandons a house, leaving a caged animal behind, who has no means of escape and can starve to death?
Assholes.

when I saw the well-fed part, I sort of wondered about where the owner is...

We have a local rescue facility for animals including big cats. Closest I've ever gotten to them, which is both cool and a little terrifying.

That does seem to be a logical question. People don't hallucinate tigers when they're high on pot. It's still the logical lead-in to questions regarding whether the callers have been indulging in Special K or PCP or the other stuff that does turn shadows into tigers. I'm pretty sure that I would have asked the same question.
I don't think that animal control was sent to the scene first.

She will be in quarantine at the sanctuary for two weeks and then have her own 3-acre enclosure to do what a tiger should do (minus killing her own dinner of course). It's a tragedy that Texas is too backwards to ban the breeding, sale and ownership of exotics like this beautiful thing.

It's just a matter of time before the octopus has his own star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame too.
